4.0 out of 5 stars Great Book for Aspi Family Members
By Book Snob on September 7, 2020
You know that rude person in your family? The one who speaks without thinking, acts without considering the feelings of others? The one who comes off as arrogant, self-absorbed, and un-caring? Have you considered that maybe he or she aspergers? Here is a short clip from the book:

"A number of people with asd who were previously believed to pick up little to nothing in regards to others mental and emotional state actually think to themselves that they have almost a paranormal ability to apprehend other people’s mental or emotional state? I find it to be very fascinating."

I confess: I too have this gift. I can see past the surface level projected by someone as if I am peeking into their soul and yet in the moment when I should feel caring and compassionate, it's like: "whatever." From the outside someone with aspergers may appear to be heartless, but that's probably not the case. At that moment their brain is taking in information, processing what they see and hear, and making calculations of what the individual really needs.

I could go on and on about how those with aspergers are both gifted and cursed, as are those who live with them. Bottom line, get this book before you judge the hard-hearted.
