Dr. Ramendra, born in 1957, has been teaching philosophy at Patna University since 1983. He has done his Ph. D. on "The Ethical Philosophy of Bertrand Russell" and D. Lit on "M. N. Roy's New Humanism and Materialism" from the same university.
In 1985, Dr. Ramendra and his wife, Dr. Kawaljeet, and some friends founded Bihar Rationalist Society for propagating rationalism and humanism in Bihar. Dr. Ramendra has been the founder-president of the Society.
