Content, including background/ history, abounds but I didn't care for the writing style. The author abuses exclamation points and often speaks in broken sentences. Perhaps these read better as blog entries, though I personally prefer a more polished approach.
The content of this book was taken from a blog, so the writing is quite informal..
It starts with a recount of New Orleans history, the immigration, pirates, Wars, etc until Katrina and present time… all stated as facts with dates but with not too deep insights. Then the author invites us to read about her personal experiences in what it is a 30 days, day by day sort of itinerary of what she thinks are the places that cannot be missed when visiting NOLA: best museums, restaurants, plantations, haunted places, etc..
It was a very entertaining and easy read and it provided me with several tips for my - hopefully near - trip to this marvelous city.
Culled from a collection of blogs by author Heather Graham, WHY I LOVE NEW ORLEANS can be found for free in the Kindle store on Amazon and is a wonderful reference tool for anyone considering visiting the city. After reading this shirt book (a little over 100 pages), you'll certainly want to see all of the great places and things that is talked about here. I give this book 3.5/5
Next year I will have the joy of taking my cousins daughter. She is studying culinary in Santa Cruz, CA and looking forward to the fine food experience as well as the history I am anxious to show her.
