The book is really excellent though. I literally teared up because IT GETS ME. It understands. Do you know how rare that is, feeling understood with this condition? My God in heaven. It's a thing of beauty. I feel heard. And my son just read the book and gave me a look... He hears me now, too. And that's all I've ever wanted.
I also wish there was a version for non-military PTSD sufferers. It's very hard to find resources and information to help educate others if you're not a veteran. So tired of trying to explain to people that PTSD is not limited to vets and fighting in a war. Being told you can't have it otherwise hurts and can make things a lot worse.
