Laurie strikes the perfect balance between encouraging us to embrace our weirdnesses and challenging us not to settle for less than God's best in our lives. She offers a fresh perspective on relevant scriptures, shares pertinent quotes from favorite authors, and tells real-life stories that drive home her points. She offers much practical application without ever becoming "top ten tippy" (a loathing of Top 10 lists is yet another of my weirdnesses!)
My only regret is that this book wasn't available when I was a teenager and 20-something, wasting time and energy trying to overcome my weaknesses rather than focusing on maximizing my strengths.
The author/publisher provided a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was so encouraged as I read through this literary work of wonderfulness! I struggle with a quirk of being too talkative, determined, etc but the author showed me how I can not only embrace my quirks but also live them out on the "life side" while taming the "dark side" of them.
This book is definitely a life-changer. One minute I had goosebumps, the next I was giggling... Then I was fighting back tears as truth coated with grace and love washed over me. If you are looking to deepen your walk with Christ while living for His glory through the gifts and seemingly weird quirks, get this book. It will affirm that yes, your weirdness IS wonderful!!
Laurie's love for people and love for helping them live the best life possible is a theme running through her book. This is a great book to read on the couch or take with you on vacation. You will be glad you got this book!
