Review

We all know that in order to be a successful investor, we should buy low and sell high. In other words, we should pay a low price for our investment and sell it for a higher price.

So why do many of us do exactly the opposite? Why do we buy high and sell low?

We all know that in order to be a successful investor, we should buy low and sell high. In other words, we should pay a low price for our investment and sell it for a higher price. So why do many of us do exactly the opposite? Why do we buy high and sell low?

This book was written after seeing too many people jump in to commit their hard-earned money without knowing the basics of investments, making the same mistakes over and over again and ending up with unsatisfactory results and even frustration about investing. I want you to know more, take the first step in a long and enjoyable journey of becoming a value investor.

"Why do we sell low and buy high" is a great and amazing book for those who want to get into the stock investment world. Amir makes this mysterious, risky and complex world into an easy to understand, learn and explore. In 15 steps Amir teaches you the basic and most important principals and secrets to make successful long-term investment in stocks.
Amir has great humor and great way to explain complex ideas in a very simple method.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to get into the long-term stocks investments world and to anyone who is already "playing that game" but wants to improve his technique in order to make it a real success.

What I like the most about this book is that it attempts to highlight the human/emotional side of investing and how this is resposible for most of the follies commited by a normal investor.
You can get many books in the market that teach you the science of investing but investing is as much an ART as Science and this book does a great job in highlighting the art side of it.

A MUST read for both beginners and experience investors! Happy reading!

This book is definitely worth your time before getting in the world of investment.
By far this is the most comprehensive book I have read that combines valuable insight and relevant information.
I got tempted to read the book by the title as I could correlate this to myself. I really wanted to understand the reason behind my decisions for selling low and buying high before I try my luck again in stocks...and I'm glad I did.
After reading the book, I was able to identify the mistakes I've made in the past by not doing my homework before investing.
As someone who knows nothing about investing, the book uses basic vocabulary with real world examples and situations one can relate to.

I highly recommend this book before starting to invest.

This book is very enjoyable and easy to read.

Unlike books focusing on analysis of stocks, this book is really about self-analysis. The fundamental principle is that most people make bad investment decisions because they are not aware that they are really begin impulsive and are not making rational, calculated decisions. Clearly, impulsive behavior is the number 1 reason for most people's investment disasters, and this book focuses on avoiding such situations.

The book provides very practical and easy to digest guidance on how to evaluate your decisions (not your stock analysis - your own decision process and are you being rational and calculated or are you simply acting on an impulse).

Truly a MUST READ book for all your friends and relatives who you have seen make bad and impulsive investment decisions (I know a lot of people who I plan to send this book to).

Well done.

Overall this is a good book for beginner value investors. The author does a great job explaining some basic value investing principles and the basics of behavior finance.

However, if you are an experienced investor, you may not learn much from this book. A lot of the concepts talked about in this book such as Mr. Market and circle of competence should not be new to any investors who read Graham and Buffett's writings regularly.
