I ordered this so i could freeze some food during the Pandemic. I'm 72 years old and don't really like going out right now. Was excited to buy this freezer but was very disappointed when the door wouldn't close. (6" from shutting(. I made sure it was level but that didn't help. Decided to take the door off and change the way it opened, thinking that might help. But the screws are too tight to turn. I called Whynter and they were no help. Told me to call who i bought it from and get it replaced. Not even a suggestion. No help whatsoever. So i called Amazon and they aren't taking calls. Sure, i can do a return but how am i suppose to pick it to take it to UPS? I'm a 72 yr old woman with health issues, I live alone and ordered this because I'm under self quarantine. i can't afford to lose $189. Talk about being thoroughly disappointed.

UPDATE: Since returing for a replacement was impossible and i could reach no one i decided to try something else. I used a drop of sewing machine oil, let it sit and finally got the screws loose. Turns out the manufacturer tightened the hinge but did not make sure the post on the door was in the hole. Once i was able to pop it where it belonged, the door shut. They had to know this ad they taped the door shut, not an easy task. Definitely not Amazon's fault, it was sloppy work by the manufacturer. In addition their customer service was terrible. But at least it's now working. Still wouldn't recommend.

Like many others, my freezer arrived dented. I contacted Amazon and customer service was great. They gave me a discount for the item being damaged. I let the freezer set overnight before plugging it in. The freezer works great. Within a hour it was down to zero. I have the thermostat set midway and it stays at -10 F. It's quiet with just a low humm.
I bought this for our Motor home and wasn't certain if it would be big enough and considered the 2.1 cu ft model. It holds more than I thought. I'm glad we purchased this one.

I like the size. My fridge freezer doesn't have much room. I just received the 2nd one. The first one I ordered came damaged on the corners similar to other reviews. My big question is why there isn't a cover on the compressor/motor in the back. It seems dangerous to have it open where dust and dirt could get in it. Or a grandchild could stick a finger in it. I'd also be afraid to butt it up against a wall, as the booklet says to leave 4" space around it. What's the deal with that?

This freezer is amazing. I keep it on the LOWEST setting of "1" and everything is frozen solid. There is a lot of room in it too. I highly recommend it. The door action is very well made and stays secure very well when closed. I ditched my large refrigerator and now use this and a small regular refrigerator and i'm saving on electric and keep fresher food in the house. Also, I don't buy things I don't need, I just buy for the week.

Bought this freezer to supplement the freezer in my RV fridge. Space is a premium in a camper so the size of this unit is just right. We have used it for a year now and are very satisfied with it. We made a round trip to Alaska and used it for food items going up and salmon on the trip back. The only time we had AC electric when we were in a park overnight. Most days, it was without power for at least 8 hours. No problem! Everything stayed frozen and safe. One time, we had to overnight at WalMart and did not have power. I did not open it until we were ar an RV Park the second day and had power. Everything was still hard frozen. If I could give it 6 stars, I would! I had planned on using an inverter to power it off the batteries while driving each day, but it would not work on the 1000 water inverter I have. Something about the sine wave from the inverter not being compatible with what the freezer requires. Still a great unit for my use.

Item arrived in good condition

Settled on flat surface for several hours before turning on.

Followed manufacturer's instructions for initial setup. Run empty fridge at max setting for at least 2 hours.

Ran constantly for almost a day, with very little breaks or cycling in between. Fridge finally settled after 24 hours and now cycles properly. The longer it runs the less the compressor turns on.

Very quiet. Deep freezes quite well even at low settings (numbers 1 to 3) even with a full load of meat.

Initially draws up to 600W when compressor turns on but normalizes to a very low 48 to 50 Watts during normal operation. That's almost like a large light bulb.

About less than or roughly 1kWh per day for me. so roughly $43 a year at 12 cents/kWh as the sticker tag suggests.

Pretty decent small freezer. Will update if anything happens.

It works great and I like it, but the only thing that sucked was that I had to get it replaced twice because they arrived damaged! This one was damaged too, but not as bad, so I kept it. The postal people/UPS people must hate me since we live upstairs :(
