The three main characters and best friends- Jonah, Reno and Zach- just graduated and are living it up on a gay man's paradise island. Their usual game of "who can hit it first" (sorry, that's terrible, but adequately explains it best) proceeds as normal...at first. Quickly things take an unexpected turn and feelings, attachments and big, cowboy hilarity ensue.
Reno and Sam were, perhaps, my favorite couple. They were written with such a genuineness that I couldn't help but look forward to their future. They were playful and possessed an unusual chemistry- frankly, they just worked and I adored them immensely, plus the Demon Lord stuff was just too cute.
Jonah was adorable. His earnestness and open heart was endearing but it was his struggle with the guilt and his pure desire for Eddie that was just so perfectly written.
Zach and Luke and the ever looming chastity chaperone, Big W, were the never ending supply of comedy relief. While the entire 600+ page book was funny, this triad was hilarious on an entirely different level- he!!, plane- scratch that, dimension. Zach is obnoxious, sometimes unlikable and loud and he has met his match in the even louder princess, Luke. Throw in some antiquated beliefs and a scowling, c-block named big brother, and it's a powder keg waiting to blow. This relationship, while laugh out loud humorous, also made me mad and sad a bit. Zach was much too uncaring for my tastes but towards the end he had my full pity.
This book is fantastic. The price is absurdly good. The writing and editing is perfect. The characters are memorable and delightful.
I just hope there's a sequel. Definitely recommend. I'll be looking for more titles by these two authors!!
