Wicked Innocence is a dual point of view story about a former rock star, Sax, and a talented young singer, Micah, who dreams of performing in a rock band. Sax is 25 and made it big when he was younger. After drugs and alcohol took it’s toll on both himself and the one’s he loves, he drops out of the spotlight, showing up several years later to manage his cousin Henry’s band, Resurrection.
Micah has escaped a terrible life at the age of fourteen. In order to get by on her own, she must take on a new identity as an 18 year old. Fast forward several years and Micah has secured a spot as the lead singer of Resurrection. Although she’s only 17, her friends and band mates think she’s 21. That would be okay, except she’s fallen for the band manager, Sax. He’s attracted to Micah, but is very aware that she’s 4 years younger than him, and that’s too young in his opinion. Imagine how he’ll react when he finds out the age difference is 8 years and she’s underage.
Don’t let the cover fool you. Micah is actually a sweet, caring and shy young girl who does not come across as wicked at all. I personally can’t associate the cover model with the book character. With that said, when Sax and Micah do begin their sexual relationship, she does come across as VERY experienced (not wicked). If she’s only seventeen, when and where did she learn this. Part of me thinks that making her a virgin would have been more believable, BUT would have definitely had Sax suspicious.Read more ›
This is the story of Micah and Saxon.
Micah (M) has never had an easy life, but she knew something had to change and in order for that to happen she took matters into her own hands. Leaving home at the age of fourteen is no laughing matter, but staying where she was wasn't working either. Three years later and M is doing things for herself. She has always loved music and would love nothing more than to be a part of a band.
When Micah gets her chance to audition she's scared because she wants it more than anything. Unfortunately, first impression didn't go so well, but after pleading and then belting out a song, the guys in the band decide to give her a second chance. Letting her know they have a gig and if she can pull it off the job is hers, if not, well best of luck to her.
When the night for her audition comes, she can't believe the man standing behind her. She would know him anyway, Rock God Saxon Waite. Wow, she thought he was gorgeous before but nothing compares to now, and though he is no longer in the music industry on stage he still loves music. He gives M a few pointers and when its her time to go on stage she kills it. What she doesn't expect is to meet the manager of the band...aka Saxon.
As the band ventures out on a short tour, M can't help how close she feels to Sax. She wants him, more than anything, but he's already made it known nothing could happen, she's four years younger than him. What would he say if he found out it was actually 8 years? That's something M doesn't want to find out.
But the two get closer and closer and eventually things happen. Saxon couldn't be happier, because Micah is an amazing person in and out. But when you lie, you must realize the truth always comes out.Read more ›
When I read the blurb for this book, I was like 'I need this now!' The story line really intrigued me and I couldn't wait to start reading it. Wicked Innocence is about 17-year-old Micah whose real name is actually Mikayla. When she was 14, she got a fake ID and then she became Micah. She wanted to get away from her mom and foster homes, so she ran away.
I admired Micah and the way that she found a way to better herself. She may have had to lie about who she really was but she needed to do it to survive. She has a bad past and she needed to get away from it. She is very mature for being 17 and has already gone through a lot at a young age.
Micah loves to sing so she tries out for a band called Resurrection. Saxon Waite is the the manager of the band. He is 25 and used to be a rock god but some things happened and he quit his band and cleaned up his act. Saxon and Micah have great chemistry but Saxon already thinks she's too young for him when he thinks she is 21.
It doesn't take long for him to give into their chemistry, but they keep it on the down low because of his cousin Harry. Harry and Saxon don't get along and they often argue and fight because of things that happened in the past. Harry is also the lead guitarist in the band.
I love books about rock stars and this one didn't disappoint. This was the first book I've read by Missy Johnson, but it won't be the last. I hope that Saxon and Micah will be getting another book because I would love to read more about them.

This was much more sweet than I had expected. From the blurb I expected a street jaded young girl but what we basically got was just a normal 17 yr old. Read morePublished 14 days ago by Joycedale

First let me say, don't let the title rule your decision on this book. The title does not quite describe this book.
