I will say I did like Rand, the hero, much better than the last two books' heroes. He was sweet, thoughtful, sexy and worthy of the hero status. He had substance and personality and wasn't at all a jerk.
Which brings me to Cat... I'm just not sure what's going on here. I liked her, and I can feel sympathy toward her. However, respect her past choices? Let's just say I'm not quite there yet, probably because I can't get past picturing Anna Nicole. I guess that's my issue.
Honestly, I'm not sure what Ms. Bennett's intention is with this series. Is it pure hedonistic pleasure, or is she trying to make some statement? If so, it's unclear. Tolerance? Desensitization? Shock value? Broadening our horizons? I really have no problem with the Silo and what happens within the confines of the club, but some things do stretch beyond my comfort zone.
It seems really awful for me to mention this, but I have a hard time with the inflated costs of each subsequent release of her books. It might curtail future purchases, just like the Cold Fury series for me. I can't justify the cost of a sub par book. Sorry, Hawke, but I may never know your story.
I just want Bridger's story, but I'm afraid it won't be as epic as I need it to be.
In this story we finally get to know more about Rand. He not only is he a fantasy maker at the Silo, but he is a former Olympic champion. He lives a simple life, that is until he finds Cat sleeping in her car one evening.
Cat has had a challenging life. At 24, she has become a widow. Her husband's son has kicked her out of her home and taken away all access to her money. Having nowhere to turn, she takes Rand up on his offer for a place to stay.
The chemistry is off the charts in this book. As Cat puts her life back together, Rand finds he can't help but fall for her. Once again Sawyer Bennett has written a memorable storyline and I can't wait to find out what she has in store for us next in Logan's story!
The story is hot and sexy, some wonderfully descriptive passages with what goes on at the Silo and the beautifully blossoming story between Cat and Rand, along with the rest of the Wicked Horse gang makes this another hit with me! I'm looking forward to Logan's story, and the mysterious virgin!
Good for you Ms Bennett you know wrote another great story!!

We have met Catherine in the previous books, she was a character that I found hard to relate too. In this book we actually get to meet Cat, a sweet caring girl from the wrong side of the tracks who got caught up in a very bad situation.
Rand works at The Silo and he know Catherine but he saves Cat. He is the ultimate rescuer and is there to help those around him. When he sees Cat sleeping in her car he knew he had to help her and fell for her along the way.
This is so well written, I have great respect for Sawyer Bennett and how she took a character we thought was one way and did a complete 180 with her. We meets me knew characters and had visits from old ones which was great. Told in dual POVS you get to really meet Rand and Cat and it was great to see what makes thme who they are. Sawyer Bennett weaves a fantastic story about how to love yourself before you can love another.
If you need a fantastic spring read this one is for you.
Rand works at the Silo part time as a fantasy maker and yeah he enjoys himself. One night he is the last one out and notices a car in the parking lot and someone is sleeping in it. Turns out Catherine left the Silo but has no where to go. It seems her rich husband has died and she has been kicked out of her home, credit card cancelled and no money. Her husband told her she would be taken care of upon his death but something is not right. Rand let's her stay with him until they figure out what is going on and who is behind this second will. While Rand and Cat are getting closer, will she finally know what a real relationship is like? Can Rand show her how good it can be? And who us trying to hurt her?
Another awesome addition to the Wicked Horse series and I can't wait to start Wicked Ride, book 4.
