Much like the first book Wicked Games, Wicked Ties, brings the thrill, suspense, and twists. It keeps you focused on your ereader and makes you stay in place until the very last word. I know it is a bit cliche', but I could not put it down!
Chaise is in trouble and seeks help from Noah. She shows up at his wedding as an uninvited party goer, but never makes it in because of the Steele Security men led by Bull. At first glance Bull thought Chaise was trouble and was trying to break up Brianna and Noah, but her attitude reflected she was truly scared. She is taken to the Headquarters of Steele Security for an interview, but is followed by bad guys. These men are waylaid by other members of the Security team while Chaise and Bull get away. When they finally arrive to their destination Chaise stalls and tells Bull as little as possible. As scared as Chaise is she tells him what happened to her and her suspicions about the company she works for. When it is clear that there is no place safe for Chaise, Bull takes her to the safest place he knows of: his home. They are attracted to each other and when they come together it is on a primal level. Chaise is hiding secrets from Bull about who she is and when it all comes out Bull loses his trust in Chaise and more chaos ensues. Chaise leaves and goes back to where it all started only to be kidnapped. Will Bull be able to save her in time?
Chaise is vulnerable, but she is a very strong female character. When it comes to being pushed around she will not stand for it. Bull is the take charge kind of man and with Chaise he fits right in. He keeps her grounded and away from the edge of her sanity. What happens when she is on her own? What happens to them when she is kidnapped? One click this one to find out.
Chaise is in trouble. After stumbling upon something BIG while at work, she realizes that she's being followed and she needs help. She originally seeks Noah out, but he and Brianna have gone on their honeymoon.
After a rough greeting, Bull decides to see who Chaise is and help her since she is obviously incredibly scared.
Although there is a large amount of animosity, Bull still feels some sort of connection and need to protect Chaise.
Will Chaise be the woman to finally break through the rough exterior that Bull has had up for so long? Will they be able to keep her safe? Will it all blow up in everyone's face?
Bull is a big, strong, loyal, dependable, and honorable man. He has shut the rest of the world off at keeps those he trusts and loves very close. He is officially my favorite! I wanted to keep him and never let him go. He has a rough side that comes across as abrasive, but if you fall into his circle of trust, he will be the most reliable and loving man imaginable.
I could go on about Bull for days. He is honestly one of the best male characters I have read. He has his issues that make him human, but he has a fierce determination to protect his loved ones and an incredible sense of duty that make him honorable. He definitely gives me warm and fuzzy feelings. And when you talk about him taking charge in the bedroom... yes please!
Chaise is a mystery. Although I understood her need to keep that mystery, it broke my heart to see her continue to avoid revealing anything. It was weighing on her, it maintained a level of distrust from Bull, and it just made everything more complicated.
I'm always curious so I was constantly guessing what Chaise's secret could be and I wanted to know incredibly bad.
Once the secret came out, dear lord it was a doozy and I had no clue where to go.
Bull's growth was both heartbreaking, heartwarming, and just amazing to see.
I honestly loved every minute of this book. I would recommend this to any of my friends. It may be #2 in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. Give this one a chance, you won't be disappointed.
