"This book has such a delicious slow burn romance!" -Erika C., NetGalley
"Heather McCollum knows her craft. This novel is thoroughly intriguing. All elements have been masterfully executed. The plot grabs and holds the reader's attention from beginning to end. The characters are vibrant. The scenery is vividly detailed. The Wicked Viscount is a 5 out of 5 and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys historical romance." -Kelsie M., Goodreads
"Cat and Nathaniel's romance is slow to kindle but quick to burn...and burns verra hawt!" -Veronica W., Goodreads
"I loved this historical romance. It's full of mystery and adventure. The characters are all very well-developed and it is quite a well-written story. I think it's a must read for historical fiction fans." -Fizza Y., Goodreads
"The attention to detail is incomparable as we're transported to a Scotland of more than 300 years ago. It's clear that the author has done her due diligence regarding the history and culture, making this a beautiful escape that will warm your heart long after you find your way back to the present." -Viper S., Goodreads

Back in book 2 Cat saved and made quite a mark on Queen Catherine. Now the Queen is once again in trouble. Someone or many are poisoning King Charles I and she needs a Highland Rose skilled in healing and weaponry/defence. The best is Catriona Campbell. She agrees to go knowing her life will be in danger. Nathaniel agrees to escort her to his England home and from there Evie and Scar's housekeeper (the most proper woman in manners) Jane Pickney who will whip Cat into a proper "English" lady. Yeah Right!!! Their journey is full of mishaps and the attraction to each others cause so much strain, you just want them to kiss already. Nathaniel falls in love with Cat but has a major secret which prevents him from marrying Cat and Cat has sworn never to marry. Now once in the Palace the intrigue/mystery of who poisoned the king and who is out to get the Queen begins. Cat will ferret out the conspiracy but along the way must overcome her attraction to Nathaniel. What doesn't help is the fact he is willing to risk everything to keep her. Once up against the murderers can the two fight the evil and protect the Queen (and themselves)...
Another fabulous tale from Heather McCollum. I love her quirky secondary characters...Jane was a BIG Hoot!!! Love her. Her descriptive writing makes you feel you are back in time. Her knack for historical details is amazing. You will love this Campbell story!!!
I enjoyed The Wicked Viscount, though I'm not really sure how accurate the title is. I mean, I guess he was kind of wicked, but really he was more nice--protective, honorable, brave, loyal--there's a touch of wicked, but it's not like he had a reputation or anything...
But I digress. ;)
I loved Cat as a heroine--she's strong, feisty, and though she tries to fit in at court so as not to embarrass the woman who asked her there (to engage in espionage!) she never pretends to be something she's not. Nathaniel is torn between his feelings for Cat and what he believes is his duty--I have to admit there was a while there that I wasn't sure how Ms. McCollum would manage to get them to be able to be together in the end, but she did, and with style. I enjoyed visiting a time period other than the Regency (this also seems to be my week for that, too) even though I didn't know much about the politics of the time (other than who the ext monarchs would be and roughly how they'd come into power...)
