Arrr! Ahoy to Seductive Adventures!

What a brilliant story to plunder into. Highlanders and Pirates Oh My! This story is more than just finding a Highland love ever after or a Pirate story in search of a bounty. No this is a story where love becomes the true treasure and adventure is the soul baring root to happiness.

Ach, me love me some Highlanders especially the Lasses. I totally admire how the Lasses are raised because they are just as fierce, stubborn, humorous, and feisty as the warriors of rumored legends claim to be. However, the word Pirates spells love with adventure on a whim. Put the two together and you get one seductive adventure that tops all climax driven fantasies. This is the perfect story!

I loved Trina (Caitrina), a girl after my own heart with dreams of adventure and a strong determination to gain her freedom of choice to love who she chooses and not some arranged old man chosen by her father or elder. She captivated me immediately with her fierceness and bravery out shinning her own brothers and cousins. Her determination had me cracking up and cheering her on even when some of the situations got her in more trouble than she expected.

As an added bonus, her cousin Kyle won my heart over too. He seemed to always be guarding her back and watching out for her even though most of the time he found himself going along with her schemes because they were as much his dreams as they were hers regardless of how much trouble they found themselves in.

Trina and Kyle’s adventure becomes exciting and humorous as they finally face the pirate of the ship they accidently stowed away on. Yes Capt. Alexander Kid was an all-around surprise.

I have read the entire MacGregor series and have loved every one of them - some more than others. This one, however, is kind of - well - painful. I just don't think I could quite get past the opening of the story. I had a hard time cheering for a Hero who starts off the book in bed with a prostitute - guzzling liquor while doing the deed. I mean - YUCK!! I get that Paula Quinn probably included this scene to help show how Alex changes and grows throughout the story, but - YUCK!! It made me not like him - at all! - and I never quite got over it. I actually found myself thinking that Caitrina could do better than him, and that's NEVER a good thing in a romance novel. Another bothersome story element is its believability. I'm a pretty forgiving reader; I don't usually get bogged down with the not-so-realistic events in a story. This one, however, has loads of "Are you kidding me right now?" moments, starting with how Caitrina landed on Alex's boat in the first place. It's possible I could've gotten over these had I liked Alex a little bit, but my indifference towards his character seemed to really affect my willingness to overlook the outrageous twists in the plot line. It just didn't work for me. Rest assured this book blunder has NOT turned me off of Paula Quinn's novels. I still love her writing style and am eagerly awaiting Abigail's story. I just wouldn't recommend THIS one.

Be still my heart another winner in The MacGregors: Highland Heirs series! What do you get when you put witty, sexy, romantic with a dash of history thrown in, the recipe for a perfect romance. Paul Quinn takes her readers on a wonderful ride in this sequel to The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell. Make sure you have enough time to read this one as you will not want to put it down!

It's like coming home... Loved this whole series from the very beginning and it's awesome to read about the children, and grandchildren with all the same spirit within. This was a great twist with the pirate theme. Paula is a fantastic writer. Kudos to another great book. I so look forward to reading about the rest of the kids stories.

I always enjoy Paula Quinn's books and have read everyone. This book, like all her others, is a very good story and I can't wait for her next one! Really looking forward to Malcolm's story which I heard is next! The audio version is great, too! Awesome narration!

I really enjoyed Trina and Alex's story. Trina's parents book, Tamed By a Highlander, is one of my favorites and I was very excited to read about their daughter and this book didn't disappoint. I enjoyed all the new characters introduced but my favorite was the relationship between Trina and her cousin Kyle. I loved the relationship between Trina's Mom, Mairi, and her brother, Colin, and it was great to see their children have just as close of a relationship. I hope we get to read more about Kyle I'm very curious what his future is like and loved how he fit in amongst Alex's crew. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars was because I thought there should have been more to the ending. I know there is other books coming out dealing with Callum and Kate's grandchildren but I felt the ending was kind of sudden in comparison to the other books where there was a bit of an epilogue and glimpse into the future.

If you enjoyed the other books in this series I would definitely recommend this to you. And if you haven't read any of the other books I don't think it would be hard to understand the story or relationships but I definitely suggest reading the others first in order to fully enjoy the story.
