Product Description
Recharge four Wii Remotes simultaneously with the Quadruple Charger Station from CTA Digital. This charge station contains a four-space cradle that allows you to charge and rest four remotes in an upright position. Also included are four rechargeable 1800mAh batteries, which are enclosed in a mold that you can attach to the back of your Wii Remote. The Quadruple Charger Station is powered by a USB cable that attaches from the AC adaptor connection (located on the back of the device) to a USB port on the Wii Console or on a computer.

1. The indicator light is RIDICULOUSLY bright blue and runs around the entire station (though I guess I'm glad it's there at all).
2. I'm not too thrilled with the fact that the charger hooks up via USB cable and the Wii has to be on to charge the controllers. It would be wise to purchase a USB Wall AC Charger (so you can plug it into a wall).
3. Packaging doesn't tell you how long it takes for the initial charge. We figured out that a full charge on the new battery packs takes about 4 hours.
Good buy though! Can't beat the price.
**EDIT 2/25/2010**
At times it is difficult to tell whether or not the Wii motes are actually charging. We've noticed that if they are not sitting perfectly in the holster, they do not charge. However, it looks like they have a complete charge because the red indicator light has gone off--In reality the connection has just come loose from who knows what. There is nothing that clips the controllers into the charging station; you just have to set them on (loosely) and hope they stay put. At times the wrist strap gets in the way... I guess it's not a huge deal, but it can be a pain to have to remove the straps each and every time you want to charge the controller(s). We haven't really had any problems running out of batteries because there is never really a time when all four controllers are being used at once. If you are someone who is going to use all four controllers for an extended period of time, you very well could have problems!
The down side, you have to remove the wrist straps in order to charge them. This means lazy boys (and husband) use the remotes without straps. Glad our TV is wall mounted or there would be a TV with a big hole in it!
I haven't had the contact problems others have had (when straps are removed) but the straps are a definite issue.
Rechargeable batteries would have been a better way to go. All in all, this product has worked great for us and saved us what we paid for it by not buying batteries. However, we would have had to buy a new TV had it not been high up.
If I had taken the other reviews about the straps seriously, probably would have tried something else first but it is helping me teach those boys some responsibility. No strap, no playing!
- Lights are way too bright when on
- It uses a USB plug to power it, so it has to be plugged in to the Wii unless you have some other nearby availablue USB plug, and it therefore only charges when the Wii is on
- Takes a long time to charge the batteries that come with it
- Once charged, batteries wear out quickly - way faster than a couple cheapo AA's
- Can't use it if you have a Wii Motion Plus or any other kind of cover over your Wiimote
For my family which plays Wii maybe once a week, this product was completely useless. We could count on the fact that the batteries would be dead whenever we wanted to play, and the only solution was to turn the Wii on 4 or 5 hours before we actually wanted to use it so they could charge up a bit.
Waste of time and money for us. Two stars instead of one only because maybe it would work better for somebody who plays Wii more often than us.
I wrote to CTA's support team and was told : Did you try the power switch on the sides? Try using a different USB source.
Well, I'm not a complete idiot and the power switch was not the issue (this unit has only one switch)... so I tried plugging into a wall adapter for USB devices and the right most lights started to work.
So the question becomes, what did this thing do to my Wii USB port and why would it work for 3 weeks then start to fail?
Yeah it works (takes a long time to fully charge) but I wouldn't buy one again.
I should have read more carefully - it says Wii REMOTE Charge Station not Wii Battery Charge Station. I didn't realize is that you cannot use the charger unless it is in a wii remote. I thought I could just charge the extra batteries and have them ready at my disposal - but I can't do that unless I buy two more remotes - or use my current charger and charge 2 batteries - and then switch them out.
Anyway you put it - it's a great value!

Just got this and ever so slightly dissapointed. The remotes do not sit comfortable in the charger and have to be wiggled to get them to charge. I also have to set the charger at a tilt to get it to work. Not great but does work.
