I love Kim's work...I have one of every deck shes done and love em...this was so-so. Her work with archetypes has true depth-the printing and editing may make this difficult to actually enjoy and appreciate.
Here's the downsides... The deck is cut off center, the deck progressively gets more off center as you work through the deck. Next, the box is also already starting to come apart, even though I just unwrapped the package for the first time. And lastly, the book has held a bend even through one quick flip.
Here's the good.... The card stock is slightly thin but overall going to hold up nicely. The box is in two parts, a square box followed by a round box to keep the cards safe.
Overall the work is beautiful but I think if they had taken a little extra time on quality than it would have been a nicer set.
On a more subjective note, if you're getting this because you love the hand drawn style of the other two Unknown decks -- the aesthetic is quite different. Lots of them have crudely collaged photos mixed with her drawings and I'm not a fan
Update: well now it's the next morning and I've bounced back from my issues about the quality enough to have a good look at the cards.....There is a lot of power and something real here. It was also light enough for me to read the tiny print in the book (which I couldn't even with my reading glasses at night) and I love the suggested spreads...they feel like they add something new to the menu of popular spreads....and I can see how working with the archetypes in this way could be very powerful, so I added an additional star- but that's still 1 star off for the general manufacturing quality issues and another b/c they are unusable. Unfortunately, I still need to send them back because the raised edges on the cards makes them uncomfortable/abrasive to hold and impossible to shuffle.
I even tried smoothing down the raised edge with a bone folder, and got it a little flatter after several minutes of vigorous rubbing, but I'm sure not motivated to do that for all 78 cards! ...but I will check back in a few months to see if the manufacturing issues have been resolved.

Some of the images are lovely and expressive but others look a little half hearted as if the creator were running out of ideas towards the end of what must have been a long project to bring to fruition.
These cards are for taking you on a spiritual journey not for general tarot readings, I'll probably pass them on to a friend.
This one is no different.
The archetypes have always fascinated me, I studied Jung so this was a ‘have to buy’ deck as soon as she announced its release.
I always love the books that come with her decks as they not only tell you a little about the cards but give you an insight into her own story, she writes beautifully haunting prose which is almost poetic at times and is very much my style. Her illustrations are beautiful too, so much love and work has gone into every single card, it’s clear to see.
I waited a long time for these cards and they were certainly worth the wait, I’ve used them a lot and can see that they’ll be a favourite for years to come.
Order them, seriously they tell you so much and the more you use them the deeper the meanings become, and of course, Archetypes are so very personal to each of us and are changing all the time.
I received it today and my heart sank as I flipped through the images. I wish I had waited as I can't stand collage art and this deck uses it extensively, something I couldn't see in the photos when it came out for pre-order (besides the backs, which I didn't like but thought I could live with). I don't like the artwork at all—it looks sloppy to me and the images used are grainy as well as being repeated in different cards. Additionally, quite a few of the cards were cut off-centre.
-Cards really would be so much easier to handle if they where slightly thicker, they stick to each other a lot which makes it hard to shuffle them.
- the first thing we did is add colourful marks on the card so that they can easily be divided in the 4 groups - it takes forever to sort through them without it and there is no real reason to not simply mark them from the get go- it would be so easily fixed - simply adding a color background to the numbers or names of the cards would take literal 20 minutes of sorting time away every time you want to use them.
It would make the whole set so much easier to use if the book listed the cards within the group's alphabetically...
-and if there where the normal numbers on the cards aswell... I'm not sure how many people can read the Roman numbers... but we were stuck.
Thank you for this beautiful Christmas present
Sadly there’s a typo on one of the card (Apocolypsis instead of ApocAlypsis) and it makes me very sad to return it, since I preordered it a few months ago.
All for tarot cards.
Pictures were lovely on the bright side and the book as I perused it was well written.
Sorry this didn't work out. But shame on them for not having quality control.
I can’t wait to dive into this deck and get familiar with it!
