Joe is an ex-military were-bear who doesn’t like trespassers and he certainly doesn’t like it when he’s the one they’re hunting.
Laura loves to climb, it’s her peace in life, but when she stumbles upon three scary men her peaceful wilderness retreat isn’t exactly the place she wishes she was any longer. Luckily a gigantic man shows up to save the day, and even though he’s larger than any man she’s ever seen she knows he’s safe and would rather spend the night with him than risk running into those crazy men once again.
An instant attraction that cannot be denied leads to a night of passion neither will soon forget. But when they go on a hike and a sight of beauty turns into one of death and…a scary raging bear she runs before her brain can process everything she’d just witnessed. Too bad that decision lands her in the hands of the last men she ever wanted to see again.
As always, James Horton gives us another action packed, fast paced, short story that keeps you hanging onto every word and completely sad when it ends entirely too soon.
“Joe, this is crazy. Absolutely nuts but…I’m in love with you.”
Wild Tiger and Wild Bear may be read as standalones, but with a common enemy like Xanadau I’d prefer to read them all in order. If you just want a quickie action packed romance you could definitely read them individually, but personally I like the bigger picture and want to see what else is to come. Especially with the way this one ends. Joe is determined to get his brothers back and Laura is bound to help him.
My Favorite Moment: Laura is one feisty woman. She’ll refuse to leave her love and instead do something to save him. Way to go, Laura!
This is a short / quick read that I didn't want it to end. Unfortunately, the one ding I had was that this story ends so abruptly. There is a build up at the end and the girl and guy end up together but the real story is the fact that they went off together to vanquish the bad guys and find out if Joe's brothers are still alive and what happened to them. Please James Please...write the continuation to this story. I want to know if they find Joe's brothers, do they vanquish Xanadau, do Laura and Joe survive and get married, if the brothers are alive, are they ok or were they submitted to all kinds of governmental shifter tests??? The questions just keep going on and on. I received this book in exchange for an open and honest review.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the story and it is very suspenseful and can be read on it's own but I felt like it isn't over yet. I just want to see where James takes us next, keep it coming!!
Laura love the country and she love mountain climbing. She comes to the county for peace and quiet and to get away for all the hustle and bustle of the city. The country gives her the feeling of serenity and peace. She was not looking for a relationship or anything, and then here come Joe and all her emotions boil over at the almost 7 foot tall man.
Joe lives alone far from civilization and is haunted by his past. He patrols his lands where he wants nothing more than to be left alone. He doesn't tolerate trespassers. He isn't looking for love or trouble either, just peace and quiet. He wants to keep his secrets and be left alone. Then he finds the biggest danger of all Laura, and she is about to steal his heart. They will face several obstacles, both physical and emotional. Will this be enough to fill the voids in their lives?
No more information on the book. This is one I will definitely recommend for you to read.
