Tomi Tomlin had forgotten her passport. So Tomi rushes back to the mansion that she has been staying in and is hired as the nanny for the son of the multi-millionaire international businessman Luis Despasco. When Tomi gets back to the mansion she discovers something horrifying and despicable that Luis is not the mild mannered businessman but is sex trafficking young women. Even though Tomi thinks that she is too old for this kind of thing Luis still has other ideas and decides that she will be perfect to sell to a wealthy Frenchman. Cole Fury runs Fury Security joins an investigation of four missing women. At a secret event that his friend Adam and him get invited too Cole has a part to play bidding on women but when his true love Tomi is auctioned off all bets are off. Cole isn’t willing to let anyone else bid on her or for her to get away. Cole must break Tomi down in order to find out the truth but will it put Tomi in danger especially when old feelings could risk everyone’s lives.
It seems it has been a while since I have read any of Ms. Lindsay Cross’s military suspenseful romances not because I didn’t want too or am bored with what she writes. No obviously I love her action packed stories filled with sigh worthy military alpha heroes and strong determined women but there wasn’t another Men of Mercy or Operation Mayhem stories for me to read of course with this story even though it isn’t part of those series is still something I had to read.
Tomi despite her naiveté and innocence about things especially sex trafficking is a heroine to cheer for anyway. I did want to hit her over the head a few times because I didn’t understand how she could give up someone as great as Cole but considering the circumstances I guess I could see where she is coming from. Cole on the other hand was not only sigh and swoon worthy he was just wonderful. He really had the strong silent thing going for him. Even though the thing he makes Tomi do with his brothers didn’t really faze me when it should have. I am eager to read about Cole’s brothers Clint and Carter even Adam Cole’s friend but while I wait I’ll be definitely be rereading this one again!
