I loved Denny from book one and was so excited to get into a book about him. I'm a sucker for accents and an Irish accent at that is fan worthy. Felcity and Denny have a history hardly anyone knows about but when a tragedy happens between friends it pulls them together only to tear them further apart.
Years have passed since Felicity and Denny have seen each other but on a flight they run into each other and Denny's caring for her brings on so much confusion for Felicty. He has only been cruel to her for the past so many years and this new Denny is different.
While in Ireland they become close and all their old feelings resurface. They have a lot to get through and a lot to admit to themselves at each other before they can make anything work.
Wow this book had a lot of ups and downs, a lot of steam and a lot of me yelling at the two to get their heads on straight and come to terms with what's right in front of them. I loved the chemistry between the two and thought they complimented each other well. There were times I wanted to slap some sense into the two of them because they were so stubborn.
If you want a hot and easy read with a lot of angst I recommend this one. It can be read as a standalone but it is the second book in the series.
OK, so for me personally I felt this book fell short of my expectations coming on the heels of the 1st book in the series but nonetheless, I still liked it, I just didn't "love" it like I did the first.
I loved Denny in the first book and don't get me wrong, I still love him BUT he was annoying for the most part in this story! Now let me talk Felicity or rather Fliss, I loved her:) Yeah, for me she was the saving grace of this story. Her back story with Trent was truly heartbreaking and the way Denny just let the ghost of Trent come between them was over the top ridiculous for me, ESPECIALLY when she wasn't with him for a very long time. I mean as we get to learn through the story their relationship wasn't the greatest and especially since Denny "knew" some things about Trent (things he did behind her back) I just couldn't wrap my head as to why he kept pushing her away!
OK, one more point and for me personally I just didn't really care for it or even find it at all a turn-on for me, it was during the "dogging incident" the first time, I mean even then Denny was so annoying, I wanted to smack him at that point. What I really loved about Brannon and Sophie is that they "shared" every sexual experience together fully and Brannon "took care" of Sophie throughout it all, I just didn't feel that with these 2 during THAT scene and quite frankly it did nothing for me.
I don't know I guess the first book was so sensational and because I had such high hopes and expectations, I guess I was just disappointed in the execution of their story:( Sorry, that is just my own personal feelings.Read more ›
When Felicity showed up at that party with Trent, Denny thought his world was going to end, she wouldn't be his, he couldn't be hers, what else was there then for him ?? All he had left was his music but that would mean he would see Fliss with Trent and he didn't think his heart could handle it, so when ever he saw he he made it seem he didn't like her but deep down he loved her !! But sometime love just isn't enough if it is one sided and the other man happens to be a good friend, a brother but someone that brother doesn't deserve the love of a decent woman if he wasn't decent to her....n more ways then one.
Even when tragedy strikes Denny just can't let himself let her in because of the loyalty he felt for Trent but in return he was hurting and destroying Fliss in the mean time. Did he know that...NO.....would he ever hurt her....NO.....would things change once they both realize and actually open up truthfully to each or would so much time have pasted that even love couldn't save them or would Denny's citizenship play a part in there final undoing ??
This book grabs you from the beginning to the end....you wanted to yell and scream at them .....tell him, tell her .....dahm Fliss don't do that...Denny stay away from her.....this book was so well written between the Irish and English wording you are crying and laughing at the same time and Denny accent and slang had you at hi...oh wait that has no meaning you Wanker !! Absolutely Fantastic !! I cried laughed and loved Denny and Fliss !!
