Meet Finn’s childhood friend Paul. He's a priest, who's helping Finn on his movie. When sexually adventurous BB comes his way nothing or no-one will stop her from her goal.
I just couldn't put this book down.
Reviewed for KFA
In Leslie's first book, THE TROUBLE WITH EDEN (a good read as well, by the way), we are introduced to Bliss, Steven and Finn - the three main characters who navigate the ups and downs, professionally and personally, of life behind the scenes of film making. Leslie further developed these three in WILD as well as the introduction of two new delightful characters - Father Paul, a Catholic priest struggling with his spiritual calling to serve God and his desire to explore life outside the priesthood...oh and YES he does! Secondly we meet Esme, a young woman fighting for her freedom from an abusive husband and consequently filling her need to spread her wings and fly.
Leslie carries the film making theme throughout WILD IN PARADISE as she draws from personal experience. Leslie lived the life as the wife of a professional stuntman for years while he was active in the film business - she knows of what she speaks making for interesting and insightful details throughout her writing.
As my attachment to the characters grows and as their stories unfold, it leaves me wanting book three to "hit the shelves" ASAP. Thank you, Leslie, I'm LOVING this series!
Why? Her characters, their stories, the emotion and drama, the laugh-out-loud moments…oh, and super-hot sex delivered with sophistication. Layered over all that, the author brings an authentic, Hollywood insider’s view to life on a movie set, and it makes her stories stand out.
My fascination with flawed, work-in-progress, film actor Finn Kennedy began in The Trouble with Eden, where he appeared as a secondary character, but you don’t need to have that backstory under your belt to dive into Wild In Paradise. Finn is a sexy, funny, entertaining bundle of naughtiness. His swagger covers personal issues that already derailed his life once, but his edge—his complexity—only made me love him more. When sweet, damaged Esme comes his way, I couldn’t wait to see what happened. These two were either going to save each other or ruin each other…maybe a little of both. I couldn’t resist their story.
And speaking of irresistible, meet Finn’s childhood friend Paul--prison priest on hiatus from his vows, serving as a consultant on the movie Finn’s filming. When sexually adventurous starlet BB comes his way, (um, literally), no power in heaven or hell can stop their chemistry from exploding. Praise God. Hallelujah. Amen.
I don’t know what Leslie Pike’s got in store for us next. All I can say is, write faster!!!
Wild in Paradise is a dark book to me and so depressing. Our main characters have so many issues they're going through/figuring out I couldn't connect with any of them. I didn't feel Finn and Esma connect at all or fall in love with each other. I didn't feel Paul and BB at all. This is not a romance but a showing of three people going through live changes, some hot sex scenes and a lot of self destruction for Finn. When the hated Keith comes back at the end and kidnaps Esma, it was awful to read. I felt violated. I feel I need to wash my palette with a cheesy book to get this one out of my head. I wish I would of known what I was in for. For Paul to fall for BB after she banged You and your best friend Finn for eight hours, really? And why Finn fell for Esma? Have no idea, her suppose innocence? The epilogue is one year later and tries to tie it up nice but then the book ends. I felt after what I just read I needed some happy times. It was to late to connect or care for the characters at this point but this left me feeling dirty. So no, I do not recommend this read at all.
