Among my favorite interviews were Bill Phipps (great John Agar stories), Paul Picerni (unbelievable Burt Lancaster and Shelly Winters anecdotes), Ed Faulkner (remembering John Wayne, Rock Hudson, and others), Ann Robinson (heartwarming remembrances of Johnny Carpenter), and on and on.
Well done, Tom Weaver. WILD WILD WESTERNERS is a winner!
The exception is his interview with the actress who was a friend of Lon Chaney, Jr. While she handles his alcoholism with some sensitivity, the author writes several asides that are in questionable taste. A couple of discordant beatsin an otherwise enjoyable read.
