A TASTE OF HONEY by Delilah Devlin - 5 STARS
Setting: 1880, West Texas
One look at rugged Sheriff Joe Tanner and Honey Cafferty knows she's about to break all the rules. Tanner wants her traveling wagon of elixir and potions runs out of town, but what she wants is him. The rugged lawman is sexier than sin... This story was the best of the three and the sex scenes were the hottest. Honey and Joe, along with the other cast of characters were all great. From start to finish, the entire novella was too funny and and just an absolute delight to read!
QUEEN OF HEARTS by Layla Chase - 4 STARS
Setting: 1880, Mississippi Delta
Riverboat owner Roark Sheridan knows the ins and outs of card playing - he won the Queen of Hearts in a poker game, after all. Sultry gambler Lissa Tayte is another kind of hold'em. And it's a hot game from beginning to end... This was my least favorite of the set but still enjoyable. Lissa was okay, just a little too unbelievable for an unmarried lady in the late 1800s. Roark was nice, but I prefer an alpha male like Joe in the first story. The love scenes were average, but nothing breathtaking.
TOUCH OF MAGIC by Myla Jackson - 5 STARS
Setting: 1872, Abilene, Kansas
Sleight of hand, feats of daring, mesmerism - the Amazing Catarina can do anything. When cowboy Trace Adams scoffs at her, she puts him in a trance. He's under her sensual spell, and in her arms... This story was great and a really sweet love story even for its shortness. Cat and Trace were wonderful together and the whole cast was likable. The storyline was unique and while the erotic sex scenes weren't as great at Ms. Devlin's, they were hot nonetheless and very well written!
Way To Go, Ladies!
Honey Cafferty is bonafide wagon driving traveling salesperson. Brewing her own concoctions, she can sell just about anything to anybody. Landing in One-Mule, Texas, Honey sells every bottle she has of her libido improving `medicine' to the women of the town. When the men start complaining to Sheriff Joe Tanner about how the women are acting all sweet and smiling, the sheriff had had enough. Marching to the colorful wagon, Joe figures he will run the money-grabbing prankster out of town. He didn't count on wanting a Taste of Honey.
Queen of Hearts by Layla Chase
Lisse Tayte can't afford to not pay attention to what she is doing. Playing her way to earning a place in a high stakes poker game, she has to pay attention to what she is doing. When the owner of the riverboat comes around, Lisse is more than distracted, she is hot under the collar in the worst way. As the stakes rise, so does their arousal. Who will win the Queen of Hearts?
Touch of Magic by Myla Jackson
Houdini doesn't have anything on the Amazing Catarina! When she captivates a disbelieving cowboy into howling like a wolf, she also sublimely suggests a bit of naughty play in her room as well. When the cowboy catches on, he turns the tables on Catarina and gives her a run for her money. Is their attraction for each other real or is it a Touch of Magic?
I will be the first to say that reading and reviewing anthologies are not my cup of tea. However, I have read nothing like the Wild, Wild Women of the West. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics of Catarina and her cowboy, I steamily fantasized about Lisse's riverboat owner, and I achingly wanted Honey's sheriff. Each story in and of itself was a truly enticing and entertaining read. This anthology was a perfect mix of three talented authors and I thoroughly enjoyed each story. Cowboys and wild women. Who can go wrong reading this? I know I didn't.

"Queen of Hearts" by Layla Chase. Queen of Hearts Riverboat owner Roark Sheridan loves the thrill of the game as nothing can match his passion for poker. Gambler Tayte believes poker is better than sex. That is until these card sharps meet one another calling with their respective hearts.
In "Touch of Magic" by Myla Jackson. When the handsome cowboy Trace Adams called her a fake, The Amazing Caterina decided to teach him never to call a female master magician a charlatan. She hypnotizes the stud and has him do what she wanted in a wild one night stand. However, Trace does not need to be mesmerized to be caught under Caterina's sensual spell.
These three well written heated novellas contain strong plots as the star cowboys know how to ride and shoot and the sultry sirens know how to entice these cowpokes to ride and shoot.
