I felt like there was a lot going on in this final installment of Wildcard. There were so many subplots so we were getting a lot of action happening. First, I loved seeing more of Jake in this one, since that was my issue with the second one. He is such a major part of Scar's life that not seeing him as much just didn't make sense. I also adore seeing Ryder with Jake because in those moments, you really get to see the growth of his character. Furthermore, I appreciated the story line with Cally for this same reason. Through these secondary characters, we were able to see all the changes that Ryder was striving for. As for Scar, we saw a lot of her moral dilemma and guilt in this piece of Wildcard. She had a lot of internal struggling happening in this one, so I was incredibly grateful for her points of view, even more so than in the previous parts.
Overall, I liked this installment but I was left feeling a little like "that's it?" at the end. There was so much build up of the secret and what could potentially happen, then we get answers and within a couple chapters it just seemed to be over. It was a great twist and I wish that there had just been a little more exploration into that issue, particularly with Tony. I think Missy Johnson did a wonderful job with the individual pieces in the books, but the overall greater arc fell a little flat for me. However, that is not to say that I didn't enjoy the suspense and the characters, because I really did. I just wish that the serial went out with a bigger bang, like I'm used to with this author's writing.
Jake gets sick and I was so scared that something would happen to him to lose his spot in the trial Ryder had gotten him into in London, but our Jake pulls through (thankfully!!!). Once he is all cleared, Ryder, Scarlett, and Jake head to London for the trial to begin. Their troubles are far from over, but Jake still needs medical help.
Scarlett is still keeping her secret from Jake. He still is having trust issues with her. Once they are in London, trouble in the US causes more issues to arise and I didn’t know how Missy Johnson was going to get everything straightened out! When everything does come out, I was shocked beyond belief. It was crazy. Did Ryder and Scarlett finally get their HEA? Read to find out! It’s a great series.
I’m so sad that the ride is over and will dearly miss Ryder. I will have to add it to my reread list and visit them again. The series is well written and easily grabs you early on and holds your attention throughout. If you haven’t started the series, I recommend it!
I love how Ryder turned out to be the total opposite of how he started off. He surely grew up a lot and truly cared for Scarlett and Jake. I could not put this down.
Scarlett is dealing with a lot and she is keeping all sorts of secrets. But then again so is Ryder. They are both scared that they will lose each other once those secrets are revealed.
I loved all the drama. It’s nothing what I was expecting Scarlett’s secrets to be but I totally get why she wanted to keep it under wraps. As Ryder and Scarlett try to get things in order and their relationship on track, I felt like it was rushed a little.
As much as I liked this series and love Ryder, this book left me feeling hangin. When I got to the end I was disappointed. It felt unfinished. I kinda wanted more from Ryder and Scarlett. So much happens towards the end and I was left with so many questions.
Overall, this was a great series and I would recommend reading it.
The final serial in this series did not disappoint! We find out what Scarlett's secret is, and there is a twist!, Ryder figures out what he wants to be when he grows up, and the whole Tony situation is finally resolved.
Ryder and Scarlett's relationship has gone from hot and heavy, to barely talking, to secrets and lies, and reading this volume, I really wondered if these two would make it. Everything and Everyone seems to stand in their way of them being together, and you'll be wondering the same thing as you read it too!
I loved this conclusion to this series, and really want more of Ryder and Scarlett! I felt like we were left hanging a little with how quickly the book ended. I do love the twists and turns that this series takes you on, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hot quick read.
