I had one of my doctor (MD) friends look it over and he actually got pretty caught up in reading it and read it all the way through. He said it was good material and said he was glad I got it. He also said it pretty much covered what I needed to know for primary care while in the woods and before getting to a medical center.
The book is spiral bound so that you can lay it open and follow along step-by-step, which is an immense help if you ever need it. It won't be closing up on you while your hands are bloody. Also the quality of the paper it is printed on is really good. I don't know if it's water resistant, but it's thick enough that I imagine that it will take some abuse from the elements and survive. The size of the book is also small enough you can put it in a cargo pocket or even a drink bottle pocket and it will be fine.
In short, this is an excellent book that you need with you. The material covered in the book is fairly extensive and written for the regular guy with little to no medical training to follow, and the construction of the book is definitely made for going into the outdoors.

This book is waterproof, reasonably light, and easy to use. I've made it part of my backpacking first aid kit. Read morePublished 19 months ago by Wayne
Great little field guide. Waterproof pages. Small pages, but large enough font to read comfortably. I recommend this to my geology students for field work.Published 22 months ago by Kurt
