Good compact fieldguide for common terrestrial animals but sparse regarding marine wildlife

I bought the paperback book “Wildlife of Ecuador: A photographic field guide to birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians” by Andres Vasquez Noboa (new, first published in 2017) in August 2019 from amazon.de. As the book is written in English I am reviewing it in English.I've not yet used this book in the field.The book is divided into 6 colour-coded sections:1. Introduction2. Amphibians (37 species) - Toads/ Frogs (35 species) - Salamanders (2 species)3. Reptiles (30 species) - Caimans (3 species) - Turtles (2 species) - Lizards (18 species) - Snakes (17 species)4. Birds (219 species of which 39 are hummingbirds)5. Mammals (71 species of which 3 are domesticated and 4 marine mammals)6. Extra (bibliography, protected area map, index)POSITIVE:+ covers a lot of common species+ small size ideal for fieldwork+ sturdy book cover and binding, good thick paper quality+ good use of space (sometimes animal parts are skilfully cut out to reach into adjacent photos), large photos and not a lot of empty space+ decent introduction into the biogeography of Ecuador (marine currents, tectonics, habitats)NEGATIVE:+ only photos, no illustrations+ some photos are not helpful with the ID (frogs depicted from the front, snake photos showing the head only, caiman and mammal photos showing only a small part of the animal)+ some mistakes (as pointed out by a previous reviewer => on pages 150/151 and on pages 212/213 the species descriptions and photo labels are mixed up)+ some species descriptions lack any info on main identification features+ the only 4 marine mammals are 2 sea lions (but only 1 species is pictured) and the humpback whale and the bottlenose dolphin+ frequently 2 species are described in 1 species description and only a photo of one species is providedIn summary I would recommend this book for a good overview of birds and terrestrial wildlife of Ecuador. It is well written but could do with more pointers for identifying non-bird wildlife and some better photos of some species.I was a bit disappointed that it did not cover more marine animals (more than 2 gulls, more cetaceans, and sea turtles would be helpful).Regarding the mistakes:on pages 150/151 => the photos for species 3 and 4 are switchedand on pages 212/213 the photo labels are switched so that 1 should be 3, 2 should be 1, and 3 should be 2.
