He abducts women who look like her and takes each one as his bride. With each disappointment, he begins again.
A young female's mutilated body, dressed in Amish clothing, is discovered outside the Newfoundland religious compound in Billings. For Montana SBI Homicide Detective Hannah Grace, it's unnerving how she and the victim bear more than a strong resemblance. She teams up with detective-in-charge and partner, Sean "Murph" Murphy, to catch the killer before he strikes again. When the investigation leads them to a second body, the same features and clothing as the first, Hannah is shaken to the core and begins to make a terrifying connection--she may know the killer.
A gruesome discovery and a third victim leads them back to Newfoundland, where the monster Hannah has been hiding from for ten years is waiting to claim her as his bride. After all, she's the one he's wanted all along.
And she's the only one who can stop him.
Let Murph & Grace take you on a thrilling ride that will chill you to the bone and keep you feverishly turning the pages until the very end.
Be ready to sleep with the lights on.

Review
This is the first Allie K Adams book I have read. I love when an author that is new to me grabs me like this one did. It is so well written. For me, it was one of those books I just couldn't put down until the last page. And, that last page shocked me. It looks like there will me much more to this story. I can't wait for more Murph and Grace! --Lucinda, Amazon Reviewer

The story begins with Hannah as a young teen, raised Amish, she is pursued by an odd Amish boy named Javan. When they were little children Hannah thought this boy would be her future husband, but as the years go by the young man turns into a real creeper. After the sudden disappearance of her father years later, Hannah leaves the Amish community behind. She becomes a cop, mainly to right the wrongs in the world as well as finding out what happened to her beloved father. Now ten years later Hannah is a Homicide Detective working for the Montana SBI (State Bureau of Investigation). Partnered with the hot Detective Sean Murphy, known amongst the department as a real ladies man, the relationship between these two main characters is a big part of the story. When the Detectives catch a case involving the disappearance and then murders of young, blonde, blue eyed women found mutilated and dressed as Amish brides....Hannah has flash back memories of the uneasy feelings she had when around the ever growing creepy Javan. She can't help thinking the cause of her constant nightmares is somehow behind the evil that is taking the lives of these innocent women.
This book actually has two storylines going for it.....the main one, the pursuit of a serial killer and the constantly growing relationship between the partners Murph & Grace. The constant humorous banter between these great characters is a big selling point for the book in my opinion.
This story was a real page turner and I found myself up late into the night reading, unable to put it down. The pure evil that surrounded the character Javan really freaked me out big time. He is the ultimate sociopath! I enjoyed trying to anticipate his next moves and was on the edge of my seat as the story unfolded. The end of the book leaves the door wide open for another book. I HIGHLY recommend this totally scary read!!
After that the story jumps to 10 years later to show that Hannah has left the Amish community and joined the English world as a SBI Homicide Detective. The confirmed death of her dog and the presumed death of her father were her reasons for leaving. She has vowed to find the killer even though that meant leaving the only life she ever known behind.
When bodies start turning up dressed in Amish clothes and looking like Hannah, she realizes that her worst fear has probably showed back up, Javen.
Hannah and her partner Sean Murphy, who just goes by Murph in the book, have a very interesting relationship. Hannah is not interested in anything to do with romance. Her partner on the other hand teases her all the time with wanting to hook up and sexual innuendo. But at the core the two are very close friends and would die for each other.
Throughout this book we certainly get a look at both the good and bad of Amish and commune life and it made for interesting reading. This is not a standalone book and the ending though defiantly a happy for now leaves a few things open for future books. It will be interesting to see where the author plans to take this series.
The heroine is a likable character, and the author has put considerable effort into creating her. Similarly, the hero has been built fairly carefully. Nonetheless, I had difficulty establishing a bond with either character. I think that additional details of some of the supporting characters might actually have helped me in this regard.
There is some rather brutal violence in the book. It is quite possible, given the tone and details of the rest of the book, that merely implying some of that might have been a stronger strategy. In addition, more description of areas might have been helpful.
