I changed my mind about golf in a moment. On an unusually gray California winter’s day a few years ago, I found my drive 70 yards from the green in a tight lie. This was a relatively simple second shot to a short par four, but I caught the shot thin and bladed the ball over the green. In a moment, watching in disbelief, I experienced frustration and anger for blowing such an easy scoring opportunity. And then I laughed.

Instead of cursing the situation, or tossing my club, I laughed at my lack of foresight and set about saving par. I promised to maintain my composure, visualize each shot and complete the round with my integrity in tact. The round was a turning point. Not for the score I posted, but for the way I was able to maintain my physical, mental and emotional balance.

I was encouraged and incorporated more yoga postures and breath work into my game. The process of creating the Will of Golf program required two years and includes visualization and manifesting techniques learned from my friend and teacher Frank Natale.

Excellent instruction. A confident swing. Time to practice. The finest equipment. These are essential components to playing your best, but there is another factor that is equally important. Every great golfer, regardless of age, possesses the presence of mind and the will to succeed.
