I'd recommend this book to anyone and everyone.
Finished up this book yesterday. I loved it. It was essentially a summary of all of the things I have been reading in regards to talent and self-improvement. I really enjoyed the final parts of each chapter which made things so actionable (strategies and key points).
Loved the quote: "Failure isn't final."..one of my favs in the book.
High-levels I took away from the book (that I haven't yet encountered in others):
- Workout exercising pain is not real and is from the primitive brain.
- Set 'process-based' goals, not 'results-based' goals.
- Food Cravings are in primitive brain
Finally, I'm trying to make my basketball workout routine for the summer and will use this book as a reference.
The writer Colin Robertson, makes the content of the book relevant to your everyday life. When you read the book you cannot but help and think, yes this person or that person survived against amazing or horrible odds , yes these people are heroes but the book makes the people also humane . It makes them real and their stories, as a result becomes more meaningful. I took great inspiration from the book and highly recommend it.
Also this book inspires, and makes you ask the question about yourself which is "how can I become a hero to those around me and to myself?
Just when I finish one chapter, super excited to learn about the 'How to' of Willpower, the author throws in the next bouncer. He just kept me engaged with great concepts of Willpower and most of all how to make it your Nature.
This book is just not about the emotional part of kicking up the storm within, it is also about the logic of how the emotion matters and more so about the math to keep multiplying the storm.
I am reading it the second time. It is not a book to be read once. You really need to have the book around in your living room and it needs to be referred every single day.
Bottomline: Do not miss digesting even a single chapter, for each chapter contains great concepts that might just click for you.
