"Never drive alone" huh? But that's how I drive best. Having the entire US road system to choose from sounds fantastic, whether it's a nice, leisurely cruise or an edge-of-my-seat practice session. This could be the best racer ever, but the forced social participation would be a deal-breaker for me.
this is a driving game equivalent of Destiny or Borderlands. There is a 20 hour long single player campaign, but your friends can jump in and out of your game and vice versa, also matchmaking multiplayer events.
if your misanthropic like me, then there is still plenty to do. however, demo i saw, player was stuck on a takedown mission he tried several times, so they were able to call their "crew" (friends) in to do the same mission and help him out.
My only complaint is that this game will have no local multiplayer. So if you have a friend over at your house and wish to play it just with him/her.........too bad. I'm probably not even going to bother buying a second controller for the PS4. What's the point, considering at-home 2 player games are dead and gone?
Still, far as single player goes, the game looks fantastic. It might be very well worth buying just for that.
