William Gibson Neuromancer Collection 4 Books Bundle includes titles in this collection :- Neuromancer, Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive, Burning Chrome. Description:- Neuromancer (Sprawl Trilogy 1) The sky above the port was the colour of television, tuned to a dead channel.William Gibson revolutionised science fiction in his 1984 debut Neuromancer. The writer who gave us the matrix and coined the term 'cyberspace' produced a first novel that won the Hugo, Nebula and Philip K. Dick Awards, and lit the fuse on the Cyberpunk movement. Count Zero (The Neuromancer Trilogy) They set a Slamhound on Turner's trail in New Delhi, slotted it to his pheromones and the colour of his hair. When the Maas Biolabs and Hosaka zaibatsus fight it out for world domination, computer cowboys like Turner and Count Zero are just foot soldiers in the great game: useful but ultimately expendable. When Turner wakes up in Mexico - in a new body with a beautiful woman beside him - his corporate masters let him recuperate for a while, then reactivate his memory for a mission even more. Mona Lisa Overdrive (The Neuromancer Trilogy) :- The ghost was her father's parting gift, presented by a black-clad secretary in a departure lounge at Narita..Mona is a young girl with a murky past and an uncertain future whose life is turned upside down when her pimp sells her to a plastic surgeon in New York and overnight she's turned into someone else. Burning Chrome :- Best-known for his seminal sf novel NEUROMANCER, William Gibson is also a master of short fiction. Tautly-written and suspenseful, BURNING CHROME collects 10 of his best short stories with a preface from Bruce Sterling, co-Cyberpunk and editor of the seminal anthology MIRRORSHADES. These brilliant, high-resolution stories show Gibson's characters and intensely-realized worlds at his absolute best.

I've always owned used paperback copies of all 4 of these books. I lost them about 10 years ago in an apartment fire and never replaced them. Every time I'd go to a brick and mortar store I'd look at them and always put them back thinking "next time I'll buy that". When I saw that this edition had been released in the US I decided to buy them. So far I am not disappointed. As with some editions of various author's works I have been disappointed with the binding being off slightly or misprints but so far they are great. I'll update this review if I see anything of concern.

These books are modern-day prophecy. While *some* of the technology is still on the horizon, the socio-political landscape is spot-on with our current world. Government runs the masses? ✔️ Corporations run the Government? ✔️ Wars fought over Corporate interests? ✔️ Plagues and famine decimating the populace? ✔️
Gibson's "Neuromancer" Trilogy is up there with Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" and Orwell's "1984" as a bible for the modern age. Don't just read it... Learn from it. Let it sink into your subconscious, and show you the world around you.

Gibson's Sprawl novels (the three in this set; the fourth is a collection of short stories) are widely acknowledged as milestones in science fiction writing. In addition, this uniform edition is printed in a good typeface, with good paper, and perfectly acceptable binding. The reader whose book began shedding pages after a chapter or two must have baked it in an oven and then jumped up and down on it. As with any non-sewn binding, the books need to be treated with reasonable care, and it's true that some British paperback imprints have not had the quality we expect here. But not these. This set is first-rate writing, nicely presented, at a bargain price.

Hoped it was in fitted box for the set...kinda of pricey for paperback books

Because the spines and glue on these give out within the first twenty pages: just cheaply made, which is tragic, because Five stars for the books, one star for the editions.
Gibson is one of the true giants of modern science fiction, a man whose ideas, as expressed in these books, appear in countless, COUNTLESS other books and MOVIES (how he didn't sue the makers of The Matrix is beyond me, because that was just a stolen, dumbed down version of his Cyberspace, A WORD THAT HE INVENTED).
GET BETTER EDITIONS, OR BEST OF ALL GET HARDCOVERS: THE BOOK AND THE AUTHOR ARE PHENOMENALLY IMPORTANT.

Great set of books! William Gibson is a Master of sci-fi and a godfather of Cyberpunk. I read Neuromancer and Burning Chrome in highschool but never read Mona Lisa Overdrive or Count Zero. Nice to own the whole collection now!

This bundle of Gibson's Neuromancer trilogy and the short story collection Burning Chrome is an awesome deal!
The paperbacks have great matching covers, the text is a good reading size and William Gibson's work is of course brilliant.

So far I have read a little of the first book. I have to admit I didn't expect it to be quite heavy to read and I have found it a little difficult to follow; however; this may be down to individual preference. I had initially written stating a heavy read but the book came highly recommended. I am perhaps going to pursue in the anticipation it may suddenly take a turn into something amazing and mind blowing, fingers crossed as I'm a huge fan of the matrix and sci-fi.
