I fell in love with the story of fictional Francesca. Since many of the Genetti family set down roots in Wyoming, working the dangerous coal mines and eking out a living from the dry, dusty land - this was a story that echoed our own journey to America.
--L. Roach, Genetti Family Genealogy Project
Circumstances can throw us into peril after peril, but they can also bring us a chance at joy. A moving read of the pains of immigrant life and the woodchipper that life can be.
[V]ery well done...The narrative is well crafted as a portrait of the changing attitudes of two people thrown together in a situation they are unprepared for... Their guarded relationship eventually turns to love on both sides, and glides nicely to a satisfactory conclusion.

A Top Pick, 4 1/2 stars. "I thought this book was really wonderful. It had everything."
--Night Owl Reviews
Well-written in a casual, straight-forward tone, Willow Vale is a light read. I particularly enjoyed the author's descriptions of the towns and countryside.
--Historical Novel Society
This book is not only a fine read in itself, but it also could be a springboard to read with older teen-agers as an introduction to discussing what real love and real maturity mean. A lovely, hopeful story.
--Story Circle Book Reviews
Williams' brilliant use of imagery and description adds enchanting details to this beautiful love story.

From the Author
The historical novel readers wish was a true story.
Willow Vale was written as an attempt to discover the facts about Tyrolean emigration to America after WWI. That's my grandmother's passport picture on the cover of Willow Vale.Even without makeup ever touching her face, Nona was a beautiful woman, remarkably pretty even into old age. Willow Vale is dedicated to her memory. My grandmother emigrated to America after World War I, the new bride of a Tyrolean immigrant coal miner in Wyoming, just like Francesca. From there, my grandmother's real story and my character Francesca's entirely made-up story share a few basic facts common to all immigrants, and Francesca's fictional story of finding hope in her new country takes wing.

Terri Sedmak - author of HEARTLAND On the Side of Angels & Empire for Liberty - The Liberty & Property Legends.
It brings to life true love and a vast ray of emotions. It shows the selfless sacrifice of a mother, her hopes and dreams are shattered and yet she preservers. It is a well written book about life with many facets of fate touching each day, and year.
You will laugh and cry right to the end. Great read.
author took me back in time and I found myself immersed with the heroines daily experiences. The hardships, the
heartaches, the joys and affections all combine to make this an engaging book. I recommend it to anyone who has
anchestors that struggled on their journey to America for a better life. It helps us appreciate their tenacity.
I is very well written and I couldn't put it down.
