But it's important to note that Wilson's new strategy in string naming is deceptive, to say the least. They have tried to position a "control", "comfort" and "power" line, differentiating their strings with these key words in the title, but that does a disservice to a lot of their strings, this one in particular. For there is no more "comfortable" string in all of Wilson's catalog, and indeed in all of any stringmaker's arsenal.
As I said, I have played with this string for a long time now, mostly because I have arm problems that are very sensitive to both tension and string "hardness". I've tried all the supposedly comfort strings out there and they don't hold a candle to this one.
But there is also a very good reason this has been put into the "power" line -- it's a string that generates the most power of almost any string out there. And control is nearly as good. The former 1-10 scale rankings Wilson used to use for their strings rated this one as a 9 in both power and comfort, and an 8 for control.
So what's the downside? Durability is going to be the tradeoff for using a string that gives you the feel and power of gut for less than half the price. Personally I get about six weeks of play (at about six times a week) out of these strings but I'm not particularly a heavy hitter (which is why I want a string to generate more power for me). Your mileage may vary.
The bottom line is that if comfort is at all important to you in a string there is no other choice to be made -- this will give you the power and control you need along with that. Just don't pay the outrageous prices folks are charging for the discontinued version (you shouldn't pay more than $19 for this string, anywhere).
