I bought this mold to make shot glasses out of hard candy (I used Jolly Ranchers). It works really well for that...and chocolate...and jello...and gummy bears. It's a lot of fun. I would definitely make a first batch before depending on it for guests on the first run. The instructions on the package don't specifically say that you can put this mold in the oven (though the amazon description does), but I have not had any issues with putting them in the oven at all. For my hard candy shot glasses, I just preheated the oven to 350 degrees, filled the mold with candies and put them in for about 11 minutes. After I took them out, I just used the back of a spoon to work the air bubbles out toward the edges so that everything came out smooth. Chocolate is much easier to melt and get the air bubbles out and wouldn't even require the oven (though I'll bet you could).

I looked at the negative reviews to try to figure out what would make someone not like this mold. I think maybe some people are expecting to use them more as dessert bowls - they're shot glasses. Not sure that cookies would hold liquid. I'm not sure that ice would stay viable long enough to pick up with your warm finger and contents that you put in the glass. I never noticed any smell from my mold at all, even after heating them in the oven. I never had any issues with them not holding the shape of a shot glass. No need to spray the molds with any non-stick spray. Haven't had any problem with the contents not popping out correctly or "not working". However, what they do well is perform as a shot glass just as I expected

I love this mold. I used it for only one thing so far and that was to make jolly rancher glasses. I was using it to make a gift for someone who asked for candy so I thought this would be perfect and more creative than just regular candy.

Bought these to make Dominique Ansel's chocolate chip cookie shots. Worked well, but I don't think I'll ever feel like they're really clean. The cups turn inside out to allow you to scrub them, but the silicone maintains an oily feeling from the dough. If you are baking the cookie shots, just be sure your dough is SUPER cold, and that you push the baked cookies out from the base of the mold with your thumbs while rolling down the edges of the mold with your fingers, like you're peeling a shell and turning it inside out.

Best ever way to make any edible shot glasses. My first batch was milk chocolate shot glasses, they came out perfectly. The shot glass mold releases the shot glass with no effort and cleans up easily. Highly recommended.

I really loved these molds! If you're doing cookie dough it's a little tricky but using chocolate is awesome! I made s'more shots for the 4th of July and they were a hit. The glasses are thick so no one ate the whole thing but I can't wait to try tons of new ideas!

I love these!!! My daughters and I made candied Jolly rancher shots for her little tea party. Everybody love it. Very easy to use and very simple to clean. Removing the shot glasses were easy also. I plan to order more to cut down on time making them.

This is SO MUCH FUN! Have made chocolate for my (grown up) kid's birthday and boxed it with a bottle of Baileys, and starlight mints for Thanksgiving for the grandkids to sip warm cocoa out of, every body loves them.
A little tough to level melted chocolate so I slightly overfilled and used a small offset spatula. The mints melted beautifully, but settled a little. I smashed up a few mints, sprinkled the pieces into the top when it was still hot, gave it a few more minutes in the oven They were smooth and perfect when done and the mint swirl pattern remained in the shot glass. The kids chomped on the glasses once they drank their cocoa, but there is a lot of candy there, and all of them went home with plastic bags holding the uneaten part.
For under $10, I think I might get a few of these for stocking gifts.
One caution, melted sugar burns really badly and sticks to skin, keeping the mold on a cookie sheet until room temp not only helps to keep them level but is good protection. Have fun!
