I've gone through a couple of sets of these, and although they've all worked just fine for dipping truffles, they eventually all suffered the same fate: the metal dipper portion pulled out of the wooden handle. They're sort-of-kind-of-reattachable, but they're not secure and rattle around a lot, which isn't good for candy. Also, the wooden handles mean they're only sort-of dishwasher safe; it's fine for a while, but before too long they turn splintery and very uncomfortable to hold for any length of time. I'd recommend them for initial learning and occasional projects, but not if you're trying to do significant volume.

I tried these tools for dipping chocolates and they don't work very well The oval loop is large enough that truffles tend to get stuck. The Ateco stainelss tools work much better. They might work for dipping fruit, but most fruit is easier to just dip by hand.

Disappointed that this didn't help with making my truffles...while it's better then using a fork...I'm still new to truffle making but when trying to let the excess chocolate drip for even just a couple seconds run the risk of the second part of my truffle coming off...I'd rather have the excess chocolate instead of 2 lines in my truffles, guess I'll just figure something else out. Oh well.

I'll admit I'm definitely a cooking novice, but I kind of expected more out of this. It's only okay, gets the job done if you need it to. If you need something cheap to help with dipping, this will do, but it's not super high quality.

I was hopeful it would make the job easier, but it really didn't. It was trickier to slide the candies off with the tools that to just use a tooth pick like I have for years. I am going to give it another go for Valentines Day as maybe it just takes a while to get the hang of it.

My family is a big fan of chocolate dipped everything. If you have ever dipped anything in chocolate, you know you sometimes drop them in the chocolate and need to fish it out. Ugh!! What a mess. It also affects the presentation of the fruit, too.

So I ordered these tools to help prevent making a mess. They're exactly what I wanted at 1/3 the price these same tools cost at the local arts and crafts store. Now my sweets look professional.
