Besides that, it worked good for my chocolate pretzels. It’s a little solid (even when melted properly) but it did the job just fine. One complaint is the look it has after it dries. Maybe it’s just the black, but when it dries it gives the look of old chocolate that’s been sitting somewhere for months. It looks like glitter in the picture- that’s not what it looks like in person. Also the chocolate itself is kind of way too sweet. Like I’m a person who loves desserts but after eating like two pretzels I start to feel sick— and the pretzels have salt on them. All in all, it’s just ok.

I am not sure if these candy melts were old, OR if the delivery temperature affected them, but these were the most finicky candy melts that I've ever used. I made cake pops and dipped them in these candy melts, and I've had issues I've never experienced before. Granted, it could have been anything else - the temperature of my kitchen, the ingredients I used for the cake pops - but I think it's worth mentioning to you.
First, these came completely melted into a solid mass. It really wasn't that hot when it was delivered, so maybe it melted it the warehouse...it is a risk of getting candy melts delivered, I understand this. I know the more you melt the candy, the less consistent the results...more of a chance for blooming, streaks, etc. So maybe that's why I had an issue, but again, I am not sure.
I can handle that, though. The bigger issue for me is that when I dipped my cake pops, within minutes, they 'juiced.' I don't know how else to describe it. They leaked yellow liquid. I dipped the cake pops at room temperature AND refrigerated, and also let them set both in the fridge AND out of the fridge. I even turned my air conditioner on to make sure the room was cool. It still happened. Again, maybe it was the icing I used to mix the cake pops, so it not entirely certain the candy melts were the issue. But I have never experienced this before. They still tasted great, but they just messed up the presentation.
Also, these took a really long time to set. Usually, candy melts set within minutes - these took around a half hour to get really hard, which made it difficult to smooth out the candy melt after it was dipped.
Also, I think it's important to note...if you want a thicker coating, the directions recommend heating it longer. These candy melts should be melted until JUST liquid - the directions even say, that if it is too thick, to let it cool down. I made the mistake of heating it too high and the texture became like seized chocolate. But, once it cooled down a bit, it did get way more liquid-like, and was easier to work with.
These are convenient because they are delivered to your door, but if you want to increase your odds of getting consistent results, you may just want to bite the bullet and go to a craft store to get some brand new packages.
It truly is a great product!!!
