Don't buy it from Amazon! I ordered it and it came packaged poorly. The tub was busted open spilling the contents on the rest of my order. I returned it for an exchange. Amazon is usually good about packaging. This had to be a fluke, right?
A few days later I received a replacement package. Same problem. The tub opened in transit, spilling over everything. What a mess! Thank goodness Amazon has easy returns.
So, find this locally. Any craft store should carry it. Don't order it from Amazon.
The gel is 'squishy' and will retain a little of its shape, but needs to be bordered if you're trying to create depth. You can do that by building a retaining wall with royal icing or very stiff buttercream.
If you need to keep the gel's clarity, use clear food extracts, such as Wilton's clear butter or vanilla for flavoring the gel. This product is completely edible, so if you're using a lot of it, you'll want to flavor it, or the 'mouth-feel' won't be good.
To use the piping gel, either put it into a pastry bag with a tip, or 'free-form' with a small spatula.
and lines and curves were not easy to do ,alwayes came out sloppy and ugly ,till i used the wilton piping gel , half a tea spoon in a cup of royal icing made it perfect , had no trouble
at all ,it was easy ,smooth and beutiful, i regret that i got only one pack, promised myself to buy more next time. highly recommended.
