Great as an Advent Calendar

Great as an Advent Calendar
I know people are probably interested in this pan for baking, but I bought it for a completely different purpose - to create an advent calendar for our family. I had seen many photos on Pinterest of people using the mini muffin pans as Advent calendars, and decided that this is the design I wanted to use. The calendar came out great and the pan worked perfectly. I used my circle punch to cut 2" circles out of Christmas paper, added dates and embellishments on the front, added magnets on the back, and voila! All I had to do was fill each compartment with a write up of our activity for the day. My son absolutely LOVED it. I have not used the pan for baking yet, but because I bake for him often I know I will. For my purpose of making a creative Advent calendar, this pan was all I needed. I give it 5 stars for meeting the need.

I already owned a mini muffin pan, made by another manufacturer, that was gifted to me but when I made large batches of muffins I hated having to wait for one batch to be done so I could reuse the pan for a second batch. I decided to take a chance on this Wilton pan the day after it arrived I immediately put it to use. I often make muffins using liners but on that day when everything was ready to go I realized that I was completely out. Not a big deal, I just expected to do a little bit of scrubbing later on. Clean up of the Wilton pan was a breeze! After returning to the sink where I had sat the pan for a quick soak I was amazed to see nothing remained. Unfortunately I noticed my old pan had started to show what looked to be rust through the non-stick coating despite never using a sharp utensil on it. Ack! I was so pleased with the performance with the Wilton pan I went and ordered a second one immediately to replace my now defunct pan. Both Wilton pans have since been used to make not only muffins but mini quiches, fudge cups, and all sorts of treats. They are used at least once a week, continually are a joy to clean, and have always given me consistent reliable results. Almost two months later the pans also still look as new as the day I got them!

I love to bake and this muffin pan is a great way to practice portion control as well as just make cute mini muffins to share with others. The pan is easy to use, quick to clean, and gives you perfect, tiny muffins! I have also used this on occasion to make makeshift mini cheesecakes and it has worked well for that also. If you like to bake, this will be a great addition to your arsenal, since mini treats are always crowd-pleasers! Make great muffins or cupcakes for any party or gathering!

Just a tip: Since the cups of this tray are much smaller than regular muffins, I will typically leave these in the oven for 3-5 minutes less than the recipe calls for, or at least check them at around that time. As always, fill these around 2/3 of the way up so that they won't overflow for prettier looking muffins.

This is a beautiful pan, very well made. The reason for 4 stars is because they are quite a bit smaller than expected. I have the 3 sizes ox xoxo scoops. The large for cupcakes/muffins and the small for cookies and the medium for big cookies. I thought I would be using the middle scoop for these, but ended up using the small one, the medium would be too big. The small is like a rounded teaspoon. They make a nice 1-2 bite muffing/cupcake. Which is great for little ones.
