Makes a great party favor for birthdays. Product is of high quality silicone. I bought 4 more sets.
Here is how to use them to make bread or muffins when camping...
Put about an inch of water in a camping pan that you can cover (you can squeeze them in)...
Then fill the cups with whatever biscuit or cake or muffin batter/dough you like (no greasing necessary in my experience)... and then cover the pot.
Bring the water up to a boil and then lower it to a low simmer for about 10 minutes.
Remove and enjoy!
These are both flexible, non-stick and can take up to 500 degrees of heat... AND... they wipe clean when you are done!
I'll post some pics soon to prove my claims... ;-)
(Note: I took a small hole punch and put holes in the tops of the "shoes" so that air that can get trapped under them would escape and they would settle into the water more securely... but otherwise, these will work right out of the box)
Word of advice: If you use them, plan on letting the kids take them home as favors. I made sure to have enough so every kid could have one. I was at a party a year ago where as kids were walking out with them, the hostess was taking them back...At about $2.50 each, its not too bad. Really, youve got to consider them a favor, or dont use them at all because kids will automatically think and want to keep them.
When using be sure to grease them well, or use paper cupcake inserts. People often think silicone is non-stick, but you do need to grease these well (try the Wilton Cake Release, for example).
