Top Customer Reviews
1-someone else said this and I do it. I'm not sure it actually does anything, but it seems to. When you're dispensing, leave the dispenser in the pouring position and let the trigger go, THEN raise it to the upright position. You may have a tiny drop on the tip, but I always just use my finger to clean it off.
KEY TIP #2 - my dispenser came with the white gasket inside installed upside down. I suspect this is why some experience "drips" down the front of the dispenser. When you receive yours, take it apart and check. Place the jar on the table, put the white gasket on the jar with the smaller end (it's shaped like an "L") inside the jar and the larger flat edge on the top. Then fill and install the top.
The gasket should fit INTO the glass jar, not the lid. Another way to describe it - the top of the gasket should be horizontal, not vertical. It should NOT look like an L on the right side of the gasket when held in front of you horizontally. If it does, it is UPSIDE DOWN.
I also took another buyer's advice. I let the slide slam shut mid-pour. It cuts off the flow of the syrup abuptly - preventing leaks. I get one drop on the top SOMETIMES - but never any leaks and never more than one drop.
This is our family's first restaurant style honey/syrup dispenser. Have had it as of this writing for about a month and so far works great and has ended [GREATLY REDUCED] our messy (drippy) dispensing problem. A few things I had read about in other reviews are absolutely true. Some reviewers said that their dispensers still dripped and gave low ratings. Well, other reviewers mentioned that there is technique involved when using it. When you're ready to dispense, tip the jar a little past 90 degrees from vertical BEFORE opening it. Then dispense the honey or syrup and RELEASE before tipping the jar back to vertical. You'll get a drip free experience 99% [MOST] of the time. Not perfect, but very acceptable [MUCH IMPROVED].
The other thing to be aware of is that the internal seal in the lid must have a proper orientation to seal correctly. Just make sure to orient the flat side of the seal towards the glass container.
Overall, I am very happy with this product.
Also, they sent me a USED one. It was creepy to get something that is supposed to be a new product in hygienic packaging and discover it is a returned item wrapped in an old magazine. They didn't even bother to rewrap it, just shipped it out again.
