Each country is briefly desribed with the geography, culture, relative dynamics and, most importantly, how you can pray for that nation. A must-have book in your library.

I highly recommend this book to any christian- children and adults will enjoy it!

I was so excited about this book! I started out reading this to my children, and liked exposing them to different peoples and cultures. But the more I read, the less I liked. The prayer suggestions bothered me the most. The authors are extremely narrow in their focus. Why can we only be grateful when people are exposed to or converted to their particular brand of Christianity? Can we not be grateful that a country/people is God-fearing? that they pray? that they are kind? that they have strong families? that they have enough to eat??? And can we only pray for people to be converted? For a war-torn poverty-stricken country, I think I would first pray for safety and food, and THEN maybe for a Bible to be translated into their own language. (Safety, food, shelter and other things that might be life-altering for impoverished peoples are never mentioned by the authors at all.) A Bible in their own language will mean a lot more to them if they are alive to read it! I know this is a Christian book, but it seems very unchristian, judgmental, and narrow-minded at times. I did NOT want my children picking up on that kind of attitude, so I stopped reading the prayer suggestions altogether.
Every story sounded the same. Every story was written in exactly the same style. Every story was about being converted. Every story seemed completely false. The book felt just like this paragraph--like I was reading the same story over and over.Read more ›
