You must be over 13 in order to write reviews on Amazon. Your review will be marked as an Amazon Verified Purchase. We will email you at email@example.com as soon as your review is processed.
Here are some tips for writing great reviews:
Do explain why you liked or disliked this product.
Do compare to similar products and share how long you've used this product.
Do identify specific attributes (e.g. comfort & fit of a shirt or the battery life of a camera) and whether they met your expectations.
Don't describe your seller or shipping experience (you can do that at amazon.com/feedback).
Don't include promotional content of any kind or reviews written in exchange for compensation.
This document will address areas that you will be familiar with, allowing you to assess what you know and how to formally apply and place that knowledge in the administrator role context, as well as introduce newer key concepts like bit locker. The book covers as much as possible in a set number of pages without fragmenting or obscuring the details.
The scope of systems administration is vast and thus the book really introduces what features are present, primarily the ones you truely need to know, and touches lightly on base with lesser complimentary features.
In conclusion, this document will get you established with: your current skill set, address fundamental administration taskings, help you gain an understanding of those taskings and their scope as well as domain of responsibility, assist you when applying what you know and what you'll be learning at the time in a realistic fashion; reference technical resources for further learning and topical investigation.
I have to state that I am becoming a fan of Mr. William Stanek. His writing style is concise, consistent, and has a seasoned flow that only comes with wisdom. Microsoft Press has a keeper in this one.
I highly recommend this "Pocket Consultant" for any aspiring Vista Admin enthusiast... It's easier to read than this review. I suggest, if you are interested in knowing Vista more deeply for any reason, that you get this one if it's the only book on Vista you buy.
