I have to admit that I was actually very interested in this having been on several diets over the course of my lifetime only to gain most of it back . Last year , I lost 28 pounds and this time I'm determined to keep it off . It's always a constant struggle to keep it off and balance that with a view that life is short - why shouldn't I have wine and chocolate? The title is of course a little tongue in cheek as the author isn't really suggesting that we eat only chocolate and drink only wine (darn !) . The message is that "Real food isn't bad . It's just some foods have to be eaten in moderation, like wine and chocolate." For some it might be beer and pizza , but she provides common sense advice that I thought was very useful. The author suggests things that most of us know such as setting realistic goals, scheduling exercise, the importance of strength training, paying attention to what you eat. I liked her idea of imaging that you can fit into a pair of jeans that are too tight for you. One of the biggest incentives I had was fitting into a pair I had not been able to fit into for several years .
However , the plan seemed a little too regimented for me with mesocycles , macrocycles , microcycles , etc ., tracking exercise and what you eat . I'll stick to counting calories and making sure I save some of my allotted calories for wine and chocolate because after all they are good for our health. As far as exercise is concerned I'll keep going to the gym two or three times a week. With some focus , I hope I'll be able to maintain my weight loss and still have my chocolate and wine !

The author’s first name is an anagram for great and her last name, said aloud, is perfection, too: Greta Boris would never bore us. It’s not in her code. I highly recommend this book.
I did read it through still hoping for some tidbits on how to choose wine, yeah that didn’t really happen but it is a nice quick read or you can choose to read it one “mesocycle” at a time. Which ever you choose, she does seem to know her business about helping one find out how to lose weight and eat right. Each chapter has tips that cheer you on to better things ahead for you.
Greta also encourages journaling about your progress.
I really like the fact that she is encouraging you every step of the way.
According to Greta, “Wine makes you thinner and Chocolate makes you smarter”, how can you go wrong with that philosophy!

Diets have always failed me, and workouts were too much like … well, WORK!
Diet is just the word "die" with a "T" on the end of it. Workouts ... well, I can come up with any number of reasons to not show up; it costs too much, the equipment is sweaty, it's too crowded, I just don't want to go.
Greta’s refreshing plan walks the reader down a path towards health that can be maintained for a lifetime. Her step-by-step plan helps the reader change bad habits without giving up the things that make life worth living: wine and chocolate!
This is an easy read written by someone who truly knows her subject. The simple step-by-step plan is well laid out, and it simple to follow. This book helped me lose (a LOT of) bad weight and replace it with a healthy lifestyle that fills me with energy daily! This book is a life-changer!
