From the Author
How would you describe your style of writing to someone that has neverread your work?
I never thought about mywriting as having a particular style, but ofcourse, every author does. If I had to describe my style of writing, I'd say there's a melodic cadence to my writing. When I listen to my books, I can hear it, feel it. For example, I have an oddwriting fascination with the number three. I have no idea where it came from, but three feels right when I'm describing or explaining something. I don't doit all the time, but I do it enough that I now consider it asubconscious/conscious trend.
About the Author
A desire to see more novels with positive, sexy, and three-dimensional African American characters as soul mates, friends, and lovers, inspired the author to take on the challenge of penning such romantic reads. She is the author of two paranormal romance series: Winged Warriors and Death and Destiny. N.D. likes to read historical and paranormal romance novels, as well as comics and manga.

I received a complimentary "book".
This is the first story I read from N.D. Jones and my first audiobook ever which was the reason to pick it up. I don’t usually choose this kind of stories and I have to say that it was a good decision.
The book tells us the story of Zora and Alastar. Zora was the witness of a shooting where one of her most beloved people died. Alastar had been rejected by her own mother and that scarred him for life.
The story starts with a shocking scene that grabs the reader’s interest from page one. The author is good at describing action scenes. There are several surprises I didn’t see coming.
I like the narrator’s voice when he is narrating but I don’t like at all when he is playing Zora’s part or Alastar’s.
