Mag and Astanel were witnessing perhaps, the last moments of the Realm Guardian and as time went on Mag got suddenly sick. She managed to sift through the flows of natural wyrd until she grabbed hold of a tendril and placed it on the Realm Guardian's neck.
Mag questioned Astanel wanting to make sure that he understood and saw what was going on. Travis Simmons continues with another chapter where Angelica is talking with Grace and Jovian about the disappearance of Amber. Jovian realizes that what is being told is part of his dream.
Cianna was a necromancer, at one time and was now revealing some details about the birth of Angelica and Jovian that according to Grace; they were stillborn.
The more I read the more I was fascinated by Travis Simmons' writing style. The whole idea of a mental game ~ having your own thoughts and your own feelings but were they your own?
I particularly liked the way Travis Simmons depicted the "Realms" a subject that is quite unique having me hooked and sometimes even at the edge of my seat. How memory flashes at the sound of a name. What was this all about? The adventure just began making all the characters come alive in their own special ways.
Of all the characters, I really enjoyed Mag's lines and scenes the most. The story does continue and the end is not the end, as I read it because the sun will rise again in the east, paint the tips of the snow-capped mountains in pink and honeyed-yellow warmth day after day.
Beautifully written ~ I recommend it.
The only thing about these stories is that it is very hard (I would assume) for someone to read the books as stand alone books. You really need to the whole story to know what is going on. In fact, you might have to refer to prior books even if you have read them. I know there has been a time or two where I've gone back to take a look at something. Of course, my memory isn't exactly the best anymore but the books are very involved I guess you could say. There is just so many things going on and so many characters that you might have a hard time keep things straight all of the time.
Even though, the stories can be a little complicated, they are great. This one does not disappoint. Travis Simmons has created a world full of mystery and wonder that will have you guessing at every turn. His stories are not predictable like so many others.
I give this book 4 1/2 stars. It is for high school readers or older. They have some violence and adult situations that are not appropriate for all ages. The story probably a little too complicated for younger readers. Like I've said before this series needs to be read in its entirety, and not as stand alone books.
I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.
This author brings so much to the table and more that I could have ever dreamt. Even though it is a novel that is about battle, I am never bored with it. I love the characters and everything about their attitudes and personas. These books are packed with action and all the drama that you could ever want in a fantasy novel. This is one of my favorite series in this genre that I have read in a long time. It’s awesome, just plain awesome, and I can not wait for more.
Disclosure: I was given a copy of this book for my open and honest opinion. All thoughts are my own.
On Wings of Chaos is book five of The Revenant Wyrd Saga. In this installment, we see Sara finally on the mend. As Mag cares for her, she begins preparing her soldiers for battle. Everyone has gathered in the Guardian of Earth's keep. Jovian and Angelica finally get the answers they desperately needed, the Wyrder's Bane has found it's way to the Guardian's wyrders. Will they be able to figure out how it's getting to the workers? Will they find an antidote in time? What of the dreams of the turquoise tower? What does it mean?
Once again I was left amazed by this author's creativity. Usually, I get bored with long battle scenes, but this time I was drawn in and kept engrossed. I love Joya's take charge attitude, you can easily see that she's no longer the same girl as book one. I thought it was really great that we get to see all of them grow up before our eyes. There's nonstop action in this one as we meet the dark dryads, dwarves and trolls. If you haven't read any of this series and you like epic fantasy, you're in for an awesome series. This is definitely one of my favorite series this year!
