Bought for a 2 yo's birthday and was amazed at the broad spectrum of the content. Alphabet, colors, numbers, shapes, time... the lift the flap concept entertains and engages them right away and the flaps are designed in shapes and incorporate colors and numbers to facilitate learning. Yes, it's big, but that's so you'll read it with them. It's not meant to be read by the child alone. Amazing teaching tool for early education!!! If you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend of a toddler or preschooler, buy this book!!!! If they master this they just might skip kindergarten!

This book is exactly as described - GIANT :) But, it's wonderful and has lots of fun flaps that move in a variety of direction. The only con (in my opinion) is some of the content. For example, the last page shows presents for every letter in the alphabet and underneath a picture of something that starts with that letter. For a learning tool, you might expect them to be things that small children recognize, however some of these are: W for Wellingtons, P for Pencil Case, M for Marmalade, F for Fir-cones & my favorite....C for condensed milk. lol At least they got A for apple :) But overall, it's been fun for my daughter (21 months old) to open it play with. It's not her favorite, but it is cute..especially for a classic pooh lover.

I was looking for flap books, since my 2.5 year old was showing interest in those. I don't know, this book just wasn't that impressive, I guess I was expecting more of a story, maybe more pages. This is more a learning style book. My Daughter however seems to like it thou, so I guess that's a good thing.

This books was a real disappointment because of how the flaps are laid out. The illustrations are so sweet and there are a ton of flaps, but the little access points that make it easy to open the flaps are (generally) not placed opposite the flap's hinge. This results in a ton of torn flaps. I even busted a few as I was cracking them open for the first time before handing it to my two year old. She LOVES her books and is very careful about them and was in tears when she accidentally tore a tiny flap completely off.

I wasn't sure how my 2-year old daughter would like this, since she has been exposed mostly to the "Disney" Pooh. I wasn't sure if she would recognize the "Classic Pooh". Worried for nothing... she got it right away! Loves all of the different flaps. The book not only met, but exceeded my expectations. Very happy. =)

I just ordered my second copy of this book -- it's my 17-month-old's favorite! Unfortunately, "Lift The Flap" became "Rip The Flap" once she got her little hands on it. So now we've got one copy she can flip through and one for the top shelf for mommy's hands only!

There's not much by way of text to read, but it teaches everything from colors, time, numbers, opposites and the alphabet -- and my girl never grows tired of seeing what's behind the flaps. One of the words she says now is "Pooh Pooh Pooh Pooh," so I guess you could say this book really fostered a love for "the bear of little brain."

We love classic Pooh here, so when I found this Giant Lift-the-Flap, it was great! The book is fairly large (a little larger than a 15" laptop, I think) and the flaps are very sturdy -- I had to open them all just to break in the book, because my toddler had trouble with some of the flaps. One thing I didn't understand was that the numbers page (while gorgeously illustrated as Pooh's tree) had the numbers scattered throughout the picture, rather than in chronological, linear order. I think it would be confusing for a toddler who isn't familiar with number order yet. The alphabet page is cute, with the storyline on the opposite page that all the animals brought Pooh a present to represent letters of the alphabet....but some of the flaps open hinged on the right, others are hinged on the left, and one of them is top-to-bottom. I guess the maker thought it would help with right and left hand development? Hmmm. And some of the gifts mentioned are definitely English...."W" is "Wellingtons" so you might need to explain why rubber boots are listed there. The illustrations are classic Pooh, and the sheer number of flaps distracted my toddler during her 2 year old doctor visit. Very satisfied.

My 23 mo old daughter loves it, has been playing with it since she was about a year old. It really is a giant book at 10x12", with thick sturdy pages, great classic winnie the pooh illustrations, tons of flaps to lift and not too many pages. I like it but you should know this isn't a story that you read, more like a paragraph setting the scene or asking if you can find blank. It holds her attention, its a fun book. I have seen far worse lift the flap books. Surprisingly, we just lost the first flap and she has been really rough with it but keeps going back to it. All in all, this is pretty good for a lift the flap book with adorable classic pooh artwork.
