So, this a good title, describing exactly what you’ll be reading for the next two hours; namely, how to cheat - well not exactly ‘cheat’, but how to optimise your behaviour to help Facebook realise how urgently your audience wants to see your content, above and before the thousands of other, competing stories.
Where to begin, ..explaining so many new concepts to those who are innocent of the hidden complexity involved in the commercial exploitation of a social network?
Immediately, the distinction between “Reach” and “Engagement” both enticed and worried me, as a complete beginner to digital marketing. But the statistics were fascinating, and the “timing” factors won my attention among new ideas I that hadn't considered; but I also started worrying - what kind of tools exist for measuring one’s “Reach” and “Engagement” if I embark on the challenge?
However, before I reached part two I was relaxed; the answers to my questions, and all new concepts are introduced clearly in simple language, and unfolded before us in a natural logical sequence. Good examples are given to ensure no abstract concept remains abstract, but becomes understandable, even familiar.
The author makes it clear that information presented here, her subject matter expertise, is garnered from much real and practical experience in the field of commercial digital marketing. And explains that this is the whole point,.. The details and the art of prioritising social network feeds is very much the competitive edge of the competing giants in the websphere, and those details and arts are constantly changing.
The text constantly reflects the source of the information as real world experience, and its credentials lend authority to the author as much as the practicality benefits the reader.
The items are brief and clearly headed, so it's possible to read briefly, and get some knowledge that you can really use. In fact, once we get going, there is a whole catalogue of brief hints and tips that is worth dipping into again and again.
A helpful primer for those looking for beginners looking for direction with their Facebook marketing activity. Given that Facebook is constantly changing and evolving as a platform, it is likely to need regular updates, but the core strategy concepts and tips should remain accurate for some time.
