Water Works is a great game for the whole family. The object of Water Works is to lay down a series of pipe cards in order to create a leak-free pipeline before your opponent does the same. You can hinder your opponents' progress by sabotaging their pipes with leaks or caps, and you must fix any leaks they "spring" on you. It is not an extremely complex game, but it is a lot of fun. Although though the stated age recommendation is 8 to adult, my five-year old beat me with no problem the first time we played. This version comes with a bathtub-shaped discard tray and small metal wrenches you may use to fix leaky pipes. Much nicer than the version I remember as a child.

If I wouldn't have played it, I never would have believed how fun this game is. Both my step sons are addicted game console guys, so that when they come to stay with us its a real workout to get them to do anything but just that. This game is one that they will ask about playing and we can involve the whole family. They have been playing this since age 6 and even my older children, 21 and 24, like this game. It is challenging but not so much that it allows players of all ages to play it.

I highly recommend this game!

I expected the game to include the "bathtub" card dispense as shown in the photograph in the advertisement. i enjoyed the game with my grandson while he lived here and wanted to send a copy of it to him in Japan. He will get the game but the advertisement photo was misleading.

Classic Family Fun!
I bought this game because it was a childhood favorite of my Fiancées. Having never played it before, I was not sure what to expect and was a little skeptical about the plumbing theme to the game. Half way into our first game I was hooked!
The gameplay is simple enough that my six year old was able to play without needing help. While not overly complicated, gameplay is fast and fun even for adults. Each round of the game takes around 30 minutes so you can even squeeze it in on school nights. There is very little setup but it can take up a large amount of table space so make sure you have plenty of space wherever you are going to play.
Playing Waterworks was reminiscent of something between Milles Bourne and Uno but that finishes a lot faster than either. The replay value is high since the game never plays out the exact same way twice. It’s a fun addictive game that your whole family will enjoy.
Pro’s:
Fun for all ages 5+
Fast (around 30 min)
High replay value
Con’s:
Can take a lot of space
Choking hazard for babies/toddlers (wrench pieces)

This is a good game for kids learning to play games. There is not any reading involved, but taking turns and following directions are required. It requires some spacial planning skills and very very simple concepts of plumbing. Fun for kids, Moms and Dads.

If you have kids like mine and playing games like Monopoly are too stressful for everyone, this game is just what the Dr. ordered. Though short on strategy, this game creates plenty of opportunity for players falling behind to "stick it" to the leader by sabotaging their progress. Also, each match is short enough to keep everyone's attention.

Great game. I remember playing it as a kid and played it tonight with my 8 and 10 year olds. I haven't played it with my 5 year old yet but it's simple enough where I think she'll get it. However, the wrenches were not in the box (we substituted with crayons). Also, the box is very tight for the cards and we ripped it trying to put the game away, so I ended up just putting the cards in a ziploc bag. I noticed another seller has a wooden box included with it for the same price. Look for that one instead.

Although this game was popular before I was born (in 1979), I played this with my sister when we were growing up and always loved it. The original that my parents owned disappeared over time so I bought this to play with my 7 year-old son. Maybe my son will play this with his kids one day!
