I had the Parker Brothers version of Monopoly growing up, and this Hasbro set is a little different to what I remember. I still do prefer this one to the “specialty” editions I own (Star Wars, Doctor Who, Millenial). The fact that the game board just folds in half (instead of being a “split” design that never lays flat) is a major bonus here. See notes below for my comparisons between this set and my old Parker Brothers game as I recall it:
1. Pieces are metal, but smaller and lighter than they used to be—and the iron gamepiece is missing!
2. Cards for Chance and Community Chest are blank on the backs.
3. Houses and hotels have a slightly different design and are very lightweight.
4. Money is printed on one side only, and the colors are very slightly “off” from my old game.
5. The plastic money tray for the banker has slots to stand up each denomination as opposed to the old tray, where each denomination laid flat in its section.

Bought this for my son for Christmas and the deeds are not a full deck. Some are duplicates and some are missing. Totally dissatisfied and have an unhappy kid as we were going to play the game tonight. I have attached a photo of some of the mixed up deeds.

The photo in the description shows a box that says "The Classic Edition" The box we got say 1980's Edition. Not sure what that means but the game does have what we would remember as original places like Boardwalk and Park Place and B & O railroad. So that photo is correct if you zoom in to see what properties it has. Kids are enjoying it.
