Winning Moves 'BRYNK'
The Baffling Balancing Game!
Will you be able to place your pieces on the teeter-tottering base and get it to stay? Or will you upset the balance and watch as it all comes crashing down in front of you? As BRYNK grows, you'll be amazed at how the weight of the different pieces cause it to sway, spin and bobble. Yet, somehow, sometimes, it doesn't topple over. Instead it magically dangles on the 'BRYNK'. By carefully placing your piece you will be able to stay in the game. But, place it on the wrong side and it could be game over! BRYNK's contemporary style and cool, translucent pieces combine for a modern, sculptural look. Contents: Game unit (doubles as storage container), balancing game base/cap, tri-slider piece, 42 plastic 'BRYNK' playing pieces and illustrated instructions.
If any game pieces fall during your turn (even one!), you're out of the game.

Instructions are minimal so play can begin without delay. Pieces fit together well so the quality is there, and the colors are bright and fun. The two adults in residence played the game and it is fast moving because the structure can collapse so quickly. But that is the challenge of the game -- figure out a way to add more pieces while working with a roly-poly base. I also played it alone and it was a good way to shift gears and forget the stress of the day.
Well thought out, I appreciate that the container is used to store the pieces so they don’t go astray, and that the game is relatively self-contained. Only a reasonably small area is needed for play and too often I’ve found that once a game is opened, the pieces that were compressed and tightly wrapped no longer no longer fit into their original box.
The game is fun for individuals or a pair, but with a group it could provide a working example of the value and difficulty in working together. Needing to discuss each piece’s placement, incorporating other people’s opinions in decision making and that the outcome also is dependent upon the other team(s) actions. The game teaches patience, balance and group skills.
The multicolored shapes are pretty, and there are three different colors and shapes, all made of rigid clear colored plastic. As each player adds pieces, the ball tilts and slides, opening new opportunities to build on -- or toppling and sending the network of shapes crashing down. If you're bored by the typical balancing games, this one will add another dimension to the mix and bring back the excitement.
We played this with three generations, from a five year old to grandparents in their fifties. Everyone can play! The rules are simple and the pieces are sturdy and easy to manipulate.
The container is sturdy, too, and makes for neat storage and portability. Only a small space is required to play and the unit itself is small, so it makes a good travel game. We haven't taken it camping, but we debated it and concluded that you really need a flat surface to set the play unit on, so bear that in mind. The pieces will definitely fall down, so it's not great for a car or plane, but it's ideal for a hotel room, cabin, deck, or boat. Also for home use, of course.
While this is still a bit above our youngest, this was well suited to our older two, 9 and 5, and parents, with a fairly level playing field, where being older didn't necessarily assure victory. It's generally the same concept as Melissa & Doug Suspend Game, which we also have, where the idea is to balance as elaborate a design as possible, and the one who knocks it down is "out." The storage container doubles as a play surface, where you turn the tub over and balance the half dome lid, which is what you build on. It's tricky, and requires a steady hand, but the light plastic shapes hold better than the metal bars of Suspend.
It's a quick, fun game that the kids liked a lot, and could continue to play on their own after mom and dad called it quits.
It was really fun to see how they figured out strategies to keep it from falling. I think the game is well made even though the packaging leaves a little something to be desired. On Mother's Day there will be a big crowd coming here to eat in the private dining room and then the grand and great grandchildren will get to try it out. It's maybe not a game for 'rocket scientists' but I believe even they would enjoy it.
Thank you Amazon, for giving me the opportunity to say thank you for a good product and a fun time.
