I've read other reviews on this cabinet that suggest it is difficult to assemble so I made sure to check my watch as I got started. It took a total of 52 minutes to unpack, inventory all the pieces and assemble the cabinet. There was one spot where a back panel did not slide in easily and a quick scrape with the screwdriver provided enough clearance to fix that problem. The last bolt requires that you reach into the back of one bottle slot to secure it but the hex design and allen wrench means it can easily be done without being able to see it. The allen wrench is provided with the kit and the only other tool you need is a screwdriver. My only complaint is that there is no stop on the drawer to prevent it from being pulled completely out. For the price that seems like a small problem and one I can easily over look.

The item arrived in a battered box. It appeared to have been someone else's returned merchandise. The box contained all of the necessary hardware, etc. One of the side panels has a rough exterior facing, which detracted from the finish. Fortunately, the cabinet is placed in a postion where this is hidden from view. If I have to change its location, it will be a visible flaw. (This is probably why it was returned merchandise). Anyway, I decided to keep it. Once assembled, it was very sturdy and a full array of wine bottles does not create any sag or imbalance. Just be aware that this item is imported from Asia and quality control may be a little sub-standard.

Very nice product. It was easy to assemble and yet looks quite sturdy and almost antique-like. It looks nice with other furniture. I especially like the drawer to put corkscrews, openers, etc. I would recommend this product highly.

I received this wine rack cabinet promptly from the shipper. I unpackaged the box and took inventory. There were a few blemishes on the side and most were in area that when put together you would not see. Pay very close attention to the instructions and line up all the grooves for the slide in backing. I had to take mine apart to orient the back correctly. You also have to leave the bottom off to fit the wine dividers in the cabinet. It would have taken 45 min to assemble had it not been for the error I made in assembly . Total time was about 1.5 Hours. All and all its an ok quality piece . If you remember The Bombay Company that you see in malls, its the same quality. Its ok for the money. If you put it in a dark corner it looks great with the wine bottles in it. Once you get close to it, it looks cheep. Typical pressboard veneer.

Also I did not get the color in the picture. I did get a walnut finish which is very dark. I wanted the lighter color that was in the picture. I still kept the piece because for the price its not worth the hassle for the return. If I had paid more ,I would have had a problem with it.

So I give it 3 stars

I purchased two of these. Both seemed to be packaged properly and securely. I am fairly certain the damage was not from shipping.

First unit looked like someone dropped something on one of the panels, which caused it to have a buckle in the middle. It was on the inside, and if I filled it with wine bottles would not have been easily noticed. So, I intended to just ignore that because it would have been too much of a hassle to take the whole thing apart, wait 7-14 days for a replacement, then have to re-build. The way this part sits, you have to take the entire unit apart to replace.

When I started to construct the second unit, it had many flaws. Corners of panels were damaged, as if they were dropped and landed on the corner. The cross bar for the drawer was split. On of the screw heads popped off when putting it together, and the screw could not be removed without damaging the piece it was screwed into.

I placed "parts request" order in with the manufacturer. Hopefully, they'll send me the replacement parts quickly. In the meantime, I have pieces to two wine cabinets strewn across my floor for the next couple weeks.

They do look nice, but are of very poor quality. If it were easy to re-pack and return, I probably would have. But, for now, it seems much easier to try and hope the manufacturer comes through.

Once I got it all together, it looked pretty good and is sturdy enough for the 24 bottles. It doesn't take up a lot of space, and does what I needed it to do. I'm glad I didn't go with the higher priced style that holds the glasses, because this is not a showpiece of furniture. It does look better than I expected, however. The cabinet I received was a dark walnut, exactly the color I expected. One of the reviewers has a picture where it looks kind of light in color. Mine is pretty much exactly the color in Amazon's photo.

Putting it together was a challenge, but only because the screws did not turn easily. If I had a power tool for that, it would have progressed more quickly. Also, there was one screw that I left out: I would have had to be a contortionist to get it in. I didn't use any wood glue, left that one screw out, and it's very sturdy anyway. The drawer fits nicely and slides well, too.

I would have given this 5 stars except for being unable to get that last screw in. I won't bother explaining exactly which screw, unless someone asks.
