An interesting contribution to the readers knowledge of the past prime minister including much that is likely not known to the general public. Since the writing was done at a time when Churchill was still alive there is more vitality than articles and books written after his death.
I would recommend it to those who might like a more intimate glimpse of the eccentricities of a great historic personality. The writing was good but at times a tad repetitive. Perhaps due to inadequate editing.

This is an up close and personal look at the life of Winston Churchill. It's chocked full of anecdotes that provide a very colorful painting of a man known mostly for smoking cigars and his famous quotes during WWII. It was intersting to learn of his early war experiences in Africa as well as WWI. Churchill was also highly accomplished as a writer, speaker, and an artist. Not bad for a crusty old Englishman!

This is a well-written informative look at one of the true statesmen of the 20th century. Who knew Churchill was such a non-conformist in his youth while at Harrow? He definitely learned early on to think "outside the box". Eventually he started to toe-the-line when he studied at Sandhurst and he loved debating issues. The author has a devilish sense of humor in recounting some of Churchill's adventures/escapades.

Filled with anecdotes that illuminate the essential character of this prodigious statesman much differently than any recounting of his deeds or the events of his life. Written by an admirer, so if you are not one, you will find it tedious. In this Kindle Edition, i could find no indication of the author's name or anything about him, or even the date of publication, which must have been about 1950. Highly recommended.
